At what point do we seriously have to discuss that Peter Kay has got the pull to headline the pyramid… first comedian to headline Glastonbury? It’s a festival of performing arts and surely that comes under it..

(I’m semi trolling but factually I’m not wrong).

Way back in the early 2000s Bill Bailey did the festival every year, and it was quickly apparent that the Cabaret tent was too small for him, one year he did the Fire Stage (outdoor in T&C) but that was rammed and went away.

A few of us did some pushing to get him a slot on the Pyramid in the afternoon, as he could certainly fill it and we'd had a bloody opera on it at that point. Someone finally managed to put the question to Michael Eavis and he said he loved Bill Bailey and there were plenty of places in the festival he could play, but the Pyramid was for music and just music and it wouldn't be appropriate to have in on there.

I don't think Bill's played since.

Pyramid isn’t just for music now they’ve had public speakers!

Watch out for The S*n to post on Monday ' source's claim that Harry styles is in talks to headline Glastonbury '

Arctic Monkeys, Guns N Roses, Harry Styles feels like a Glastonbury trio to me.

Feels a bit like 2017 part 2.

Saw them a few weeks ago and thought they’d make the perfect “older indie band” JP headliner. They have one every year.

If they headline JP there’s a 20% chance I see them.

If they open the Other it’s 50/50.

So for my sake, I hope it’s the latter!

Could see Paramore playing but not headlining.

I could also see Kasabian opening the Other Stage

No chance. They are still headlining mid sized fests - far bigger than libertines are for instance

Kasabian opening other stage would be a fall from grace considering they headlined in 2014!

Libertines headlined Reading in 2015 and did other opener this year, pretty similar

They'd be a must see for me. Can't see much else clashing that would draw me away. Great band

    • Jack White a shout for next year? New album out soon.
    • Steven Wilson Jr touring would be a good fit.   Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem) as he’s touring too next year.   Royston Club. Kingfshr. Bleachers. Spacey Jane. Gang Of Youths. Overpass
    • 90,000 on a single for day or over the weekend?   if it was for the whole weekend that’s disastrous   Given camping didn’t sell out unless they in effect transferred a lot of camping captivity to Chappell Roan day tickets 90,000 is absolute capacity there I think, so it would be hard to believe   i think it’s from the year before but the TPD tv footage when the killers are headlining makes it look like it’s at best half full
    • A part of me thinks weirdly they might hold off on Chaka/Robbie until they have a year where nobody else who fits the bill is available. This slot takes a very specific set of criteria, and I can't imagine they're flushed with options who are on tour and would take the smaller payday every year. Both Chaka and Robbie have expressed interest in doing it, so they're bankers for a year where fewer options are available. Which may well be 2027.
