This internet thing is awful, I accidentally innocently stumbled on that website when trying to source an image of John Kettley or Michael Fish. It’s shocking.

I was looking for tractors.

When I see people on site already, involved in the build, really makes me want to be a part of it one day.

It’s a bucket list thing of mine to work the festival one year and be on site for much longer.

Probably have to wait until the kids are a bit older for that though!

This is my favourite thread at the moment. Thank you for your important work!

I think the consensus seems to be that a 2016 style mud bath is looking less and less likely now and that pleases me greatly.

Despite what Dusty says, it's the rain that falls during the festival that can really ruin your day. We're not out of the wood yet!

Although a repeat of 2014 would be fine - the rain runs straight off into the drainage.

We're def in a prolonged period of unsettled weather that seems to be foxing even the experienced forecasters given the pattern of predictions for more settled brighter weather a few days out which then goes downhill as the days pass, and reliable forecasts seem to be limited to 24 - 36 hours at the most at present.

if this pattern continues and the weather remains changeable then we are likely to see some rain over the 5 days but how much is anyone's guess until we get there.  On the positive side the unsettled weather at least means we are experiencing dry spells where any rainfall has the chance to dry out before another dose.  That should mean the ground will be good on arrival, with conditions underfoot then dictated by what we get over the festival, how much and when.

In essence I'm comfortable with it as things are....but cautious.

Went to bed last night and all weather apps were saying it was going to shit down all day.

So far it’s rained for lightly for 30 mins. Now bright sunshine without a cloud on the sky.

In short, no one has a fucking clue, even the day before.

Precisely this. We were supposed to get some showers today, but it’s been totally dry, warm, if a little breezy. Went for a plod just now and the sun came out making it far too warm to run ( well for me anyway). Today would have been a great festival day but the forecasters would have got us running to unpack our ponchos.

The current weather and ground conditions in Pilton are :

*  HFH records 14.0 degrees at 0831 with humidity at 85%. Consequent tent conditions - still asleep with thundery farts.

* RAM jam jar is moisterer . Todays duckometer reading is 3.0 mm, from early morning  sprinkle. The extra millimetre is hardly enough to put him on tip toe.

* Diver took to his lifeboat after believing @The Nal But has now realised it’s all poppycock.

* Current wind condition - light breeze.  Miss Pat gently swinging both ways. Current reading is Red gate. St , 8 okta.

*  sticky stick small penetration . Ground conditions are half a custard cream.

Duckometer is floating 🫣

I’m absolutely content with that, we need a bit of rain in the ground so it’s able to accept a tent peg without a complaint 👍 plus he’s a duck, so should be floating

What's the forecast Dee? Are you expecting much this week?

It’s still raining, has been since 4pm. Not heavy heavy but enough to wet your chips.

bit hit and miss this week. I think tomorrow is just cloud, with shower towards the end of the week. I’ve yet to have my crystal ball conversation with Big Dog, but will keep all up dated.

Don’t mind a bit of the wet stuff pre Festival, as long as the water table is low. But can we please, please, start banning those posters who are concerned about it being too hot. Really. I will happily cook in the dry.
