Maybe the effect was spoiled as they were so widely rumoured, but the Chemical Brothers on the Spider is a hella exciting booking.

There's a lot of debate in our group as to whether people will do Four Tet or The Chems. Horrible clash.

Yeah that’s quite awesome actually. I just assumed *all* secret sets would be at that sort of calibre.

George Ezra doesn’t feel like quite the secret.

Secret sets get hyped up mostly due to the fact of their secrecy. 9 times out of 10 something already announced on the line up is a much better use of time.  Even the Chems DJ set clashes with (imho) more interesting things elsewhere.

Does anyone know what sort of set Four Tet would play under the alias KH? Similar to his DJ sets or totally different?

Have you heard the few tracks released under KH? Catchy as fuck. Might give a clue.

Imjustbait (an instagram account heavily involved in the uk music scene with 4.7 million followers) just posted he’s heard drake will be at Glastonbury. What we thinking, Kendrick special guest?

0% chance. They're not on great terms anyway, so why would Drake be a "special guest" for Kendrick? On his album he even says he was confused when Kanye got back with Drake.

Kendrick will 99% have Baby Keem pop up (two songs, Kendrick's cousin, and Kendrick signed him to his label so obviously wants to boost him), and beyond Keem I would say no one else. The other poster mentioned Beth or Sampha (which wouldn't shock me) but don't seem likely.

I don't see Drake popping up with Megan, and also I think he's long finished vulturing off the grime scene for attention so can't see that working.
My dream scenario is he brings out ScHoolboy, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock and does a couple of black hippy posse cuts and their cross feature songs, as the big farewell to TDE. But that's is a 0%er.
Here's the thing. Over the years there have been loads of different flavours of "secret set" some are widely reported because they are a big act lots just fly under the radar because they are just a "normal" act that for some reason wasn't on the poster or lineup.

For every Killers on john peel there will be a kooks on john peel.

No one gets glasto tickets for the secret sets,  it's just a bonus if there is someone there who you want to see.

I think expectations are way out of kilter with what can reasonably be expected.

The Killers happening in ‘17 has caused so many people to be under the assumption that all the TBAs (especially any on the five big stages) are gonna be stadium/headliner sized acts when in fact that’s hardly ever the case and they’re usually a couple of rungs below that/Pyramid subs at best. Suppose it doesn’t help when we’re having random people come on here and saying Arctic Monkeys are doing the Park months in advance which then spreads like wildfire as fact rather than as the probable bollocks it is.

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
