So if Taylor does appear tonight then surely she's nailed on for next year, right?

I can feel it in my waters that Emily has booked both Billie and Taylor next year - a first for the festival to have 2 female headliners and would be something she’d be very proud of. Two huge artists at the top of their game.

Who would have the bigger crowd though? Billie or Taylor? I can see them both absolutely packing the pyramid field out.

Yup, Billie is great and will pull in a lot of the younger audience. I feel Taylor will be huge. Especially after the year shes had.

I'd take Billie, Kendrick and Swift playing if two of the Other headliners are The National and the Bad Seeds tbh

Although they might make the exception if there are three very non guitar band headliner, it’s been a while since they booked anything like that for OS and it tends to be quite dance/electronic acts booked to headline it. Nick Cave is a Pyramid sub or nothing.

That said, I just don’t see them having zero ‘rock’ acts headlining so Billie, Kendrick, Taylor just isn’t happening imo. If Billie is headlining, she’s most likely replacing Taylor, or possibly Kendrick, but 100% not McCartney.

I agree except for Nick Cave. I don't see why he couldn't headline Other. Big following for those who like him but very niche in the you have interest or don't.

I don’t think anyone would say Cave couldn’t headline Other, but Floor does cover why it’d be unexpected in his post.

The ‘very niche’ rock acts tend to be Pyramid subs more often than they are Other headliners.

The National have done it but then they headlined Other first.

I'm unsure about Billie, personally. Is there any recent example of a live set? Pretty much every set I've watched of hers (including at Glasto 2019), she's appeared a bit overtaken by the moment, without the voice or presence to wow people aside from all her swagger and gesticulation. I'm sure set designs and production values would be world class, but she was underwhelming in 2019 so she'd need to seriously up her game to be a headliner, in my opinion.

Not saying it wouldn't be a ballsy move, mind you. All power to her and the festival if it transpires, but she'd be a significant step down if she were to replace any of the 2020 trio.

No they haven’t?

I think I may be getting confused when they were going to headline Other buy did sub instead?

You may be right on the Cave thing. LDR/Dua Lipa, Noel Gallagher and Nick Cave probably is more likely in that case. Provided LDR returns.

Am I mad to think £100m isn't unrealistic?

Ed Sheeran made about that much personally from the Divide tour. He is just one man, of course, but Oasis would surely make a bigger dint than Ed Sheeran's third album with this reunion. So I think Noel could probably secure a hundo himself and chuck a few crumbs to Liam and Bonehead as well.

Hasn’t there been a £700m offer to Led Zeppelin before in the past? I reckon 100m is as you said not that ridiculous for a gigantic band reunion.

Yeah doesn’t seem like an unreasonable amount for an Oasis reunion if the rest of them aren’t looking for too much of a massive fee themselves.

But of course, it’s really just Noel being a div and making ‘unrealistic’ flippant demands and he’d no doubt still say no if offered.

Assuming that's the case, it must get on his tits. NGHFB have a decent enough run, but everyone just bangs on about him doing stuff from 25 years ago.

Thing with Noel is, he hasn't been worth seeing since his first album tour. If he produced what was need along with the Oasis stuff then he wouldn't have to be taking headline spots at all the smaller festivals etc and be doing bigger prolonged arena dates and outdoors in Manchester like his brother.

I think Noel is great live. Always delivers for my money. Last tour was the best I’ve seen him actually

    • Hot on the heels of outdoor gig number 1, the second arrived quickly! Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Malahide last night (lovely sunny evening for it!). As usual, fantastic gig (ebbed and flowed from tender to feral). Since they aren't touring an album it was very different to the Wild God shows from last year, with a bunch of tracks that hadn't been played in a good while wheeled out. Highlights for me were a blistering rendition of Hiding All Away (that merged into the end of White Elephant) and a touching interpretation of A Rainy Night in Soho to close the set (well after curfew!). @Superscally, still nothing from Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (they really must not like that album!)
    • I’m putting the 2026 code and it’s not applying the discount. Does somebody know why?
    • I think I’ve asked this before, but do we know why this is a ‘never happen’ one? I understand with Queen and Duran Duran, but I’ve never seen anything written saying one way or another if they’d do it. Would be an incredible get.
    • Here we goooo!   I never thought I'd say this at Prima Porto, famous for its rainy weather... I wish it'd be a bit colder ;D
    • I saw an interview the other day with Simon and he was asked about Glastonbury legends spot and he did say they consider themselves headliners and also said something like "The legends slot is a kind of headline slot" The actual wording might be slightly different but it gave an indication that maybe?
