lessthanwill1
Can’t wait for the Japanese Breakfast album this week! Also out later this week is Loraine James’ follow up to the fantastic For You And I (Quietus’ album of the year in 2019). Worth checking out if you’re into Glitchy IDM! Mattymooz
New Sweet Trip is a bit meandering isnt it... Never listened to their stuff before and feels like it should be right up my alley but nothing really hooks me (and it also feels like the mixing is maybe a bit weird? A lot of high end and not much bass...)

Chapters is my favourite at the moment - I think it’s stunning!

Feel like most of the songs either don't have or spend to long getting to a chorus unfortunately. Especially when there are so many long songs, I feel like I lose focus and it gets a bit boring. It is a real shame as I do agreed that the production is stellar (except for the mixing issue I said earlier), it just doesn't have the song writing to back it up imo. EDIT: I'll make sure to check out there other albums though as the potential is definitely there! Edited June 1, 2021 by Mattymooz

danbailey80
Enjoying 'The Hinterland', kind of a rockier Crowded House. 😉 https://open.spotify.com/artist/1vA0WVxcuGWDSRUVZW3tEx?si=O9Ehx-E9SMyKB7wUWP1Ulw&utm_source=copy-link

FloorFiller
That new Chvrches song is much much better than the last one. Still not a candle to the old stuff, but a move in the right direction.

maelzoid
Agree on the verdict on Chvrches. Easily the best thing they’ve released since Every Open Eye. I know it’s not a contested opinion, but Robert Smith still sounds great. What’s his secret? Is it simply a case of laying off the drugs, fags and booze? Hutchmaster
The Wolf Alice album is out and about for the impatient among us. I won't say much now except that it is fucking excellent on first listen. Very much looking forward to giving it a spin on wax tomorrow.
