It’s not the Police don’t want to enforce the rules they have limited capacity to do this on top of everything else they have to do!! It’s easy to blame the authorities and frontline staff but our jobs our busy enough as it!! We are doing the best we can!! 
The public have to take responsibility for making their own choices and take the consequences!!

a harsher lockdown would in effect be more self policing .... and therefore easier to police is my thoughts on it ...  I remember there were very few people out and about during lockdown 1 and those people stood out .... in my quiet town residential  street I even saw mounted police ...

I’ve noticed they’ve quietly started showing older celebs being vaccinated - Prue Leith, Lionel Blair and Sir Ian McKellen all photographed or videoed having theirs.

I guess if they had cancelled Christmas they would have to have put everywhere in Tier 3+ surely? 

I don't think even Johnson would have been able to get away with saying people in some places can still go to the pub but no-one can see their families (unless they're in Tier 1)

That would be very unfair on people in Herefordshire or Cornwall who have worked very hard to be in tier 1. Hopefully more of us can get our numbers down in the new year so we can join them.

sorry but thats not right ... people everywhere have done things to reduce the spread of the virus ... people haven't worked any harder in a particular area ... what has happened is that the focus has gone on certain areas through things like mass testing and public health measures that has meant that they have been able to get better control .....if my area had the same testing of an area like Liverpool our cases would be shrinking .... cornwall would have lower cases based on population density and the lack of tourists visiting ... but now its cases are growing just like everywhere ... It doesnt mean they are working less hard it just means that the virus is more prevalent and more likely to spread because of higher numbers infected ... Sorry but the working hard thing sounds so much like Matt Hancock

This is a generalised comment not aimed at @crazyfool1 but linked to the post!! 
I guess a harsher lockdown and clearer messages could possibly could impact on people adhering to the rules!’ What we are seeing in services tht essentially keep adults and children safe is the risks have increased greatly from the March lockdown which have essentially overloaded the services and support services!! 
My biggest frustration is the reactions to covid have been health based absolutely should be but with little focus on all the others issues and services which impact on people!! 
Today we received a token email letter from the the communities minister saying how proud we should be of our work!!! It’s like a kick in the teeth after suggesting we have a pay freeze after being without one for 8 years!!! 
Frontline staff do their jobs for the positive impact on others!!! Yes we get paid and yes we get job satisfaction but the reality is it’s pretty shit most of the time!!!

I agree. Plenty of people all over the country have put in tremendous effort no more or less than those in tier 1. There’s several other reasons as you say Crazy, also including population spread too. He’s just speaking nonsense as usual.

its the same humans whatever part of the country some will be working hard some won't ... the area you live doesnt define your  work ethos  to controlling the virus

its so tough ... impacts everywhere  , but the longer we go on the longer and later we can start to recover somewhat ... and of course you guys need better pay and funding .... hopefully the end is in sight without the need for too much more ... but realistically its probably not and hopefully one last bump will get us over the line

Exactly. Plenty of people are doing their bit to try to get us through this all round the country, as seen through the majority of people still keeping to the rules 9 months on. It’s really good to see people still trying to do their bit!

Can’t find the interview now but didn’t someone high up say that “2021 was for rebuilding and 2022 is for celebrating”?  I know it’s easy to see the worst in that but I think that’s a positive in saying that soon the very worst will be behind us and it’s upwards from there

theres clearly some kind of fault with the local numbers too ..... when I put in my postcode it says 44 per 100,000 and we are nearly triple that
