Didn't Johnson say no more national lockdowns? Not that that counts for much, but I do feel like they might try to avoid it by just strengthening the tiers. As long as the Scilly isles are in tier 1 they can keep saying it's not a lockdown...

No more national lockdowns but we are all in Tier 4. Except London which will move there two weeks later.

I think you might be on the money!

Tier 4 or Tier 3+ is the same as Tier 3 except gym, hairdressers and non-essential retail shut. But it's not a lockdown.

He said that the first time as well. He’s not a man of his word. Plus I’m genuinely concerned there could be 1000+ daily deaths and an overwhelmed NHS which would surely make it inevitable.

Yeah, as I say, his word doesn't count for much. I think we will either be in lockdown by all but name or he will be forced into it by the death numbers. Yay.

Anyway, some positive news, Johnson and Johnson are due to have their effacy phase 3 results end of Jan. If that works, its one shot and we have 30 million on order.

all these jabs and not enough people delivering them .... thats gonna be the issue more than availability now ....

I wouldn't rely on that one too much.

The fact that Janssen (J+J) launched a new Phase 3 trial about a month back, in order to test a 2 dose regiment of their vaccine candidate might indicate that the results of the 1 dose regiment weren't as strong as they hoped.

Novavax should be reporting around the same time or soon after Janssen as well.

Ah, I think think there will be. I've seen email traffic requests for those first aid trained at work to volunteer, trained up locally plus you get jabbed as well, for example....

No, not initially but I do think we will slowly start to ramp up with a structured roll out
