Penny Mordaunt now saying there are issues with Cummings' account, but not openly calling for his resignation.

FWIW I think people will just to not be a twat. It wont be 90% compliance or so though, 75%?

Ah it's on now. Hancock's half hour again.

He was really pumped up at the end. His awkward arm movements make me chuckle.

so are they going to pay people that need to stay at home from one of these calls then ? thats a fundamental issue for the low paid

This is the question - highly unlikely I'd say. Even if they are, unless they're checking in on these people and there are actual punishments for breaking it then it just won't work at all.

Anyway, what has everyone been drinking during lockdown?

This is good, just don’t drive after you’ve had a few: https://www.brewdog.com/uk/barnard-castle-eye-test

That looks really nice, and is genius. Just did a big brewdog order last night - had a code so got 48 cans for £50 between 2 of us. That would be 5 bottles or cans each in one of their bars. It really shows up how expensive it is to drink out

How does the test and trace app work? Is it like GPS? Does it understand vertical as well as horizontal, or will it think everyone in the block of flats I live in shares one bed for 8 hours a night?

China used this method!

I don’t know about you guys but that app is going nowhere near any of my devices until the code has been independently checked and verified. I can understand the need for one and it could be effective but I don’t trust this government one bit.

surely this is a distraction from DC ?

That's what I was thinking. Bringing the NHS into the briefing. That's convenient...

not happening for me ... absolutely no point ... my device is never off the lock screen .... so won't ever be spending 15 minutes with it on and in someone else's presence

Hi guys. Sorry I can’t keep up with this topic as it’s so fast paced so I don’t know if this has been posted already, but if you believe what Dominic Cummings did was breaking the law and he should face justice then please get behind the petition.

We are almost at 1 million signatures. I’m fed up of Boris and Matt Hancock today and yesterday trying to distract away from this major issue. If you have someone as “important” as Dominic Cummings breaking the rules himself, it gives no one any incentive to stick to them anymore.

The app is launching yet, the test and trace scheme is launching without it. Personally I’d wait too.

Agreed. It's not that I don't want the government to have my data per se, but given that mates/family of Cummings (him again) seem to have been bunged the contract and it's been developed in a rush using our stupid isolationist Britain First approach, I don't have faith that it's going to have the kind of quality I'd want for something like this.

is there any chance of people isolating for 14 days with no symptoms now ?

When Dominic Cummings made his statement he said he went home to see his wife when she was ill and then popped back to work so at no point was he even paying the slightest attention to their own rules. He was probably just popping back to get any files he needed to take up to Durham obviously.

Definitely no direct questions about DC today .... one involving BAME that was easily sidestepped .... down to the mps now ... are these questions really chosen independently ?

Same here , for both of these reasons.

I was previously game for getting the app to do my bit, but recent events have completely changed my mind and in line with this.

I wonder if the take up across the country will be lower based on the government's handling of this and the damage in confidence?

There’s blatantly issues with the app, we know Apple are working on one too. I’d be minded to wait for that one.
