Right now I’m more concerned about whether it goes ahead rather than who’s playing...

She wouldn’t be my first pick. Or second. Or third. Or fourth.... I don’t see it, I don’t see the bump from Other to Pyramid in 12 months.

Aye fair point. I'm so unconvinced it's going ahead I can't even bring myself to get worked up about the line up at the moment.

Given Macca is still in the mix I will say nothing less I invoke my claim in @Quark's signature.

So glad I copied that as soon as you said it.  I'm really indifferent to who plays right now, but I love that tiny little feeling of power it's given me. Definitely worth it.

I'm sticking with my prediction that it'll go ahead.  I'm not optimistic enough to think that everything won't still be fucked, but on a pragmatic level I just cannot see the world being shut down to that degree again next summer.

My excitement levels have dropped massively over the last couple of weeks as I've become less and less convinced it will happen 😔

I’m with you.  In the last month my excitement and optimism for Glastonbury has sunk to a massive low.  I was optimistic when they were taking of thousands of fans being allowed back in stadiums and that was cancelled and we're ready for the winter spike.  Can I see 200,000 in a field, not a chance.

Hate saying it but I suppose it’s my way of dealing with the disappointment

Will festivals and gigs happen next year? Yes I’m almost certain of it.

But will they happen in the same capacity? I don’t think just yet but I imagine mitigation’s will be in place to make it as normal as possible, it’s simply a compromise that organisers and punters will have to make in the meantime. I could see a lot of festivals go for a scaled back approach if they can’t happen normally but I think Glasto could suffer due to its size and complexity

How about a 51st?

Fucking fantastic.

Seriously though, a great booking, massive artist, deserves the step up and a woman headliner which will boost her profile massively. Will be there if nothing else is on, maybe not if she's Friday night and Thom Yorke is playing.

If its correct then Dua Lipa // Paul McCartney // Arctic Monkeys

    • So who's got a good rain dance in the locker, then? Now we're in August the weather watchers can come out of hiding.    Already having flashbacks to last year (the dust cloud of doom at the crossroads by the Courtyard entrance).   Also got to be looking sketchy for the fire/fireworks on the Sunday. Might be a controversial opinion but wouldn't mind it - the fencing annoyance isn't worth the 10 mins of 'oooohhh, aaahhhh', plus the raining of hot embers last year!

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
