EDIT: May as well add the clashfinder link too (now that I dont have to keep it private) if you want a nicer way to view it: https://clashfinder.com/s/glastoprediction2020/

girl in red headlining the park? Also, and this is really pedantic, Waxahatchee is busy all weekend so wont be there

The Editors rumour I have been doubting for a while. If i remember the person who shared that info had floated it as Editors have been booked as an indie alternative on the friday to the two main stages. hat made sense when we thought it was Pet Shop Boys Friday, but I imagine there would be a reasonable crossover between Editors and Royal Blood. Plus I reckon they wouldnt want to clash Charli and Twigs on the Sat (and Twigs wouldnt wanna clash with Kendrick).

That might make sense but the poster with the Editors info didn’t say anything like that.

JP & Other (& Park) headliners are often gonna have some crossover.

Wanted a female headlining the Park and she seemed to fit in with the Cat Power booking last year (not entirely sure on her size, but shes headlining a stage at Reading + Leeds this year too and has decent spotify numbers).

Huh, seems that you are right. about Waxahatchee, wasn't on whatever tour link I clinked on when I googled it.

Guess that makes it more likely, still dubious about it though...

I think she can fit there. Of course it's not the Chems or Justice. Not a DJ, not electronic music, but she is definitely close to dance (even she has a song with Calvin Harris btw)

She's definitely not even dance adjacent imo, straight pop.

Lol Kendrick, Isley Brothers and Bicep all clashing is a genuine nightmare for my plans.

Also those Sunday headliners are worst case scenario for my lot, the anti-clash of nothing I want to see.

This would be insane, also I would absolutely KILL for Blur (anyone think this is even slightly likely?)

Also, are the Pyramid openers people are predicting based on the expansion of the field along with Emily’s comments regarding big surprises on the day?

There being secret headliner sized Pyramid openers at all is complete wishful thinking on these forums parts and almost definitely won’t be happening. Glastonbury may be good, but both opening and closing each day with a headliner good it is not. Expect smaller surprises throughout the weekend, with maybe a couple of bigger ones not so conveniently placed, I.e. not in the morning when there’s fuck all else on and probably at the same time as other big acts.

I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility to have a decent sized act opening at least one day, I’ve argued several times for Coldplay recently.

But realistically if that’s happening someone like Elbow seems more likely.

Do they have any songs about starting the day on a positive note?

I’ve thought all along that Blur May show up, however personally I can’t see them blowing their big surprises by putting them on first each day, when everyone’s hungover/still sleeping whatever.

Cheers, you’ve brought me back down to earth but I probably needed it!

Stick them on the Park like Foals last year, if it can be kept more secret than Foals were I think it’d probably be big enough + I feel it’d suit them?

EDIT - as a secret set

It wouldn’t stay secret, they never do. It would get out and cause pandemonium.

Bare in mind blur aren’t actually together. I don’t think they are very likely at all.

Damon showing up somewhere and signing a blur tune? Yes highly likely.

The entire band, probably not.

Damon showing up somewhere in some capacity I’d say was a given. Whether it’s guesting with someone or popping up somewhere with a set of his own he’ll be there.

In what way? They haven’t split up again, and I heard Alex speaking about it on the radio last year saying that because they don’t do it that often, it’s always a joy. Glasto’s 50th could be an event that means enough to them to do it, even if they’re not touring

Albarn’s touring this new project into June, which would only give them a couple of weeks to get gig ready. Given that they haven’t played together for five years (barring one song in a pub) it seems a big ask.
