they're clearly trying to encourage Madge to do it at the mo, and if she showed interest the same year as another expensive act (F.Mac) then I can't see Glasto knocking her back. They'd make it work somehow.

Are they? What makes you say that? Beyond the fact that she's presumably on the permanent rolling wishlist.

in the last few years there's been a bit of "we'd love to have Madge" going on. It didn't used to happen, at least nothing like to the same extent. It's the same as they used to do with the Stones, with U2, with Prince, and a few others.

It might be that she's always been on their wishlist, but now she's definitely at the top of that wishlist.

aye, I really can't see him doing the legends slot. headliner or nowt IMO, regardless of who else is headlining.

I gather he's renowned for being extremely chilled out about that kind of thing.

Depends who it is. The last two legends weren’t the star attractions.

yep but he clearly would be ... I think that slots possible although the limiting factor would be time ... he could and should get longer imho

Anyone care to have a crack at pretending Madonna isn't big enough to headline and could only do the legend slot?

Oh she's big enough but I still think they shouldn't touch her with a barge pole.

Aside from the fact that he shows are always terrible and all her banter between songs is cringe-worthy because she's a terrible person (which is hard to put aside), she, or her management have a reputation for dicking people around. She'd pull out at the last minute over contract notifications without blinking so definitely not worth the risk. They should just book somebody good instead.

Yeah that is true, from hearing what you've said about the fee though I don't see it. It's been made aware they want her a few years now and she's never even said herself in any interview etc about being interested. Should they get them both though either Blur or Arctics I'd imagine will do it for naff all....Arctics even more so probably.

yes, at night time, where he is the star attraction.

Yeah but anyone who is the headliner of a gig is the star attraction.

FM - Madonna - AM would be right up there in terms of headliner trio's, they'd have to be going well over the standard fee for the first two though.. surely

If it was that I'd secretly hope they got The Prodigy to do something being the big one even as like a tribute and be on Sunday night.

I don't entirely discount the idea of Elton being the legend. Kylie's set will be the biggest of the weekend this year, easily. If Emily is pitching the idea to him she can point to that and say, "look, you'll have the biggest crowd all weekend and be one of the most talked about acts during the buildup" AND he'd probably get paid the same as a headliner anyway. There are certainly ways you could appeal to his ego.

I don't think it's the most likely scenario, but it wouldn't shock me.

Why would they be desperate to have him do the legend slot when Reg headlining on his last hurrah would be a big thing in itself?

I dont think it would be them desperate to do the legend slot, but if they could get Fleetwood/Madge/Arctics and then Elton as the legend slot I think they would be pretty happy.

    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
