Don't know how true it is but I've heard from a couple of sources that Kings of Leon will be this year's Pilton Party headliners

Would KOL be willing to take a lower slot at Glastonbury, as the headliners of this normally get on the bill at the festival.

Can't see them ever headlining any more and especially the 50th

Nope. Best you can hope is that they play a secret set or don’t appear at all.

As good as we’d like the anniversary to be, bands won’t be willing to toss their headline credentials into the fire just to be a part of it.

People were saying that about the Killers...

Some people were, but to be fair they were outnumbered by other people saying "Of course they can" - whereas I can't see that many people speaking up in defence of a KoL headline slot. They're quite a few notches further down the list.

KOL are definitely still headliner size, and could headline Glasto again in the future. I don't believe they'd be at the top of the list for next year though. Wasn't there info to suggest that The Killers weren't the first or second choice for Saturday night this year? I imagine it'd be the same for KOL next year.

Maybe, while here for another gig, they’re just scratching Glasto’s back for a future headline gig? Eg. 2021, after a new album is out and there to promote.

Yep, certainly feasible, perhaps as well as being on the reserve list for next year should anything go wrong with any of the headliners.

I’m going to see them in Manchester, they sound great.

May end up going myself, saw them at Gulllivers a while ago and they were top, new album's only an improvement (which I wasn't expecting, sort of expected them to die off)

First post-Glastonbury gig booked.  Skints touring their new album, support from Bedouin Soundclash.  Not until end of Oct, but definitely don't want to miss this one!

EDIT: plus The Beths are back in the UK so off to see them in August! :)

Not my scene but £73.50 to stand is taking the fucking piss. This has literally become the norm now. Arena's have to be the worst gig environment ever and they cost an absolutely obscene amount all for the privilege of an echoing hall with awful room acoustics and shite atmosphere.

    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
