Gilgamesh69
These are a great live band, would definitely recommend seeing. They were quite big in the Icelandic underground scene, and then Eurovision boosted their popularity. It's nice to see them finally doing a UK show... Just a DJ on a lit-up riser and a video backdrop in terms of stage, but it was a great performance, even if he did finish 10 minutes shy of his alotted slot. This was the same at Lollapalooza, was a fairly basic stage. I think he finished 20 mins earlier for us. Got my tickets for his performance at the o2 London via Priority which was not easy! Paid £81 for seats in Block 106 - not bad compared to other acts like Drake given the Astroworld production value.

I normally keep my eye on Songkick for bands popping up around then but there's a number of places you can wander into and usually find half decent bands. Jimmys, Gullivers, Castle and Soup Kitchen are pretty good for that on the cheap. Deaf institute probably my favorite venue, Gorilla is consistently getting all the gigs I want to go to at the moment. Albert Hall is worth going to if someone plays there you kind of want to see. Best juke boxes are in Corbieres, Castle, Gullivers and Temple. All through July is Manchester International festival and they've got a tonne of shit up in albert square with live music and beer throughout most the day and some decent established acts playing for free in the evenings https://mif.co.uk/whats-on/festival-square/ My files have finished transferring now so that's all I'll bother typing ahah. What he said. You won't be disappointed with the live music scene in Manchester. I'd argue it's the best in the world. The Ritz and Apollo are also great venues. I was at a festival last year and pretty much everyone attending said they are a must see. I think even Julian Casablancas watched them, as The Voidz were subbing Hatari

Gilgamesh69
Yet another Elton O2 show announced. On the 14th December 2020 but I wish it was later so that it would be his last show

Amy Lawn
Maybe Elton retiring is like Brexit, a lot of fuss but it's starting to look as tho it won't really happen.

To be fair, even when this "retirement" was announced they made a point of saying that it was a retirement from touring - no mention of doing stand alone shows or even a series of shows at a major venue. I don't think it was ever said (maybe slightly implied) that the final show of the tour would be the final Elton John show ever.
