I've never said they're his favourite band but it is the one he's always wanted. They've paid extra before (Stones) so if they were to play, 2020 would be the logical one given Micheal is on record as saying 2020 is his last one.

Was there not talk Michael gave up on fleetwood Mac because he didn’t think anyone still cared about them? I’ve definitely never heard him say they’re the one he’s always wanted

I had a convo with michael around a decade ago, when I had Fleetwood Mac rumoured on here as playing.

Michael told me that they weren't, and said something like "no one cares about them any more, do they?"

(this was just before there was suddenly greater interest in them, via Glee, I think).

I think if they don’t do it this year or next, it’ll never happen. I definitely think ME will give it one last try.

They’re very active this year and playing festivals, and the last date before they tour Australia is in the UK, a couple of weeks before Glastonbury. I don’t know whether there’s any seriousness to the rumour they’re playing, but they must be contenders.

Last time I thought they might have done all the UK shows and played the following year but they just took more shows again.

As long as Michael can try I think he will but by next year I think they'd have to accept a fee maybe around what The Stones did presuming Eavis would pay it.

I may be wrong but part of why we have Stormzy this year in a year before the 50th maybe not only as it gives a British rapper the chance but he would have been dirt cheap which gives them more in the pot to use next year.

If they aren't this year either FM or AM stepping in then I think we could see Macca, FM and Arctics next year. Still can't see Coldplay involved but not topping it mind.

I know betting odds generally mean nothing but skybet's market was taken off again yesterday afternoon.

It's now back up and Madonna is 1/5 (9/2 24 hours earlier), even above The Cure.

Must have some pretty solid information to get above the The Cure.

Or decent money. It might not take a lot but for the odds to come in that much.. but that's more than a tenner going on

Madge has been ruled out, hasn’t she?

1. She was rumoured to want 5 million (!!)

2. Emily said she’s not playing 2019.

She’d be in the superstar league, but unless it makes business sense for her, I can’t see it.

I think she just said the same about FM that they werent booked at that point. Suppose it could have changed since then but I don't think so as she would cost too much. Always a chance though.

I thought it slightly odd at the time that Emily should randomly rule out FM, Madge and Led Zeppelin, without being asked about them. Part of me now wonders if FM had agreed by then, but asked her to say that so as to not affect the Wembley ticket sales. Wishful thinking I know, a man can dream...

Maybe all three of them are playing.

Is the FM dream really alive again or are we just being silly?

Depends if you believe some randoms claiming to have heard that they’re the third headliner or not. They're about as good a bet as anybody at the moment.

FM could easily be the same deal as Stevie. Emily ruled them out as they weren't booked at the time (maybe Macca was) and they've since been recruited and maybe the festival forked out a bit than they would normally like as they were in a sticky spot trying to find another headliner.

It ain't Madonna and definitely not Led Zep, but FM could have come back in the equation.

Why would Stormzy accept less than the standard fee? GF have always been very clear that there is one fee for all headliners, big or small. So why would he take less?

That’s not true is it? Headliners have had different fees. I’m sure the Rolling Stones got more than Mumford in 2013...

By most accounts only the Stones have had a higher fee. Everyone else gets the same, this might go up year on year, but Stormzy wouldn’t be getting less than The Cure for example.

Genuinely never heard that before... and had heard McCartney had a high fee in the past.

I think they’re probably more similar than most other festivals but I’d be amazed if it was exactly the same for everyone?

Obviously I’m only going by what’s said on here, but my understanding is that they’re all paid the same each year.

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
