Sadly I think the Stones are happy to have played it once, especially considering they nailed it first time.

Shhh, don't say that too loud… some believe they bombed :P

Two blokes to headline you say? Liam and Noel headlining on the Saturday nailed on.?

If it does end up being Stormzy, the strokes and the cure it would look more like other stage headliners rather pyramid imo. In fact any two of them acts would be okay headliners if you had someone of the stature of Macca playing with them but surely not all three together (even though I'll probably see two of them).

It's crazy because it would be the 1st time I can think of that I could miss all 3 Pyramid headliners, The Strokes I don't see though, especially if they are headlining Latitude...that's not going to happen.

Honestly, considering that a trio of Other headliners (despite Other headliners never coming close to that) just goes to show how good Glastonbury has had it over the past decade. They’ve had legendary stadium-filling artists drop in for a similar fee to what London Grammar got (or didn’t get :(for Bestival, and the biggest stars in pop play mainly for the love of the place - proper star alignment stuff - and now it’s disappointing that Glastonbury is just getting acts who would headline any old festival? Hell naw.

Is The Strokes headlining that unlikely? Certainly there have been weirder headliners in the past (Skunk Anansie and Rod Stewart to name but two). Might just be that they thought they had Macca lined up and went that went awry, and perhaps Ga Ga was contacted but to no avail, the Strokes were available and thus booked.

Only just opened this thread lol

my two cents

whenever this has happened in the past the headliner has always turned out to be someone who is touring.

arctics have no dates past April.

Gaga is doing a Vegas residency and it looks like she’s doing a film in the summer

strokes are available but whether they’d agree to it / Glasto would pay enough.

I honestly think the band that stands the greatest chance is Mumford and Sons. They’d probably do it for free too. I highly doubt they’d turn it down.

yeah Stormzy, The Cure and Mumford and Sons would be a terrible trio but it’s the easiest three headliners Glastonbury could secure right now.

Mumford & Sons and Florence & The Machine are at Rock Werchter that night. I think we’d still be talking about them (or Mumfords at least) for the last few months if they weren’t ruled out.

edit: Bruce Springsteen isn’t touring either. Said so himself.

I swear you've suggested this before and been told already that they're busy.

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
    • It's certainly gone more that way, but then they went completely in the opposite direction and had Cat Stevens.
