Macca is playing Wednesday night (Thursday morning our time) in the States, so even if he leaves straight after he'll be touching down here Thursday night/Friday morning. You'd think they'd grant him as much time as possible to recover and get himself fit to play.

yeah, Macca on Sunday would seem to make the most sense against that.

Which would put The Cure on Saturday.

Make AM less likely, given it would be a Friday slot for the 3rd time based on that?

If you judge it by 2013 Michael and Emily don't seem to like the locals all that much.

If you judge it by 14 as well they seem to be in outright warfare with the locals.

True but they were slightly big in 2013 (not that they warranted to headline IMO). Plus they probably thought that they had given them more than enough with Beyonce' at the last one

"Sorry Mr Mumford, we were going to book you for this year, but we don't think you're big enough to appease the locals, so we'll pull another bigger band out of our arse instead.... Sorry, what's that Michael?... OK Marcus,my dad's just pointed out that they did get Beyonce 2 years ago so they'll understand having to settle for you. See you in June".

"We'd like to book you this year, lads, we really would. But the only thing that stands in the way is that it'd be the third time you've played a Friday and we really can't have that. I'm sure you'll understand".

I don't think that makes much of a difference really. They won't turn down AM because they can only fit them on Friday and they've already headlined the Friday twice before.

I don't think the days, generally speaking, make much of a difference at all. I don't think you're likely to see a young up and comer given the Sunday headline slot (if that's not the case, surely they would have just moved Flo to Sunday and not asked the Who to cancel the Paris date a few yars back?), but other than that I think anyone can slot anywhere really.

If I remember it right a few people on here suggested that Milverton & Sons were specially chosen for the locals as they sit on haystacks playing banjos and the residents of Somerset are presumably all farmers / bumpkins.

Why doesn’t his time on a top-of-the-range private jet constitute rest? Does he fly the plane himself, singing Hey Jude all the way?

"Does he fly the plane himself"

No

" singing Hey Jude all the way?"

Yes

Does anyone think we will get an act announcement this month like how Radiohead got announced 2 weeks after ticket sales for Glasto 2017?

can only be guessed at.

Early announcements are normally driven by what the particular band wants to do.

what recent bruce rumours?

Just a few rags reporting that "a source close to the festival’s organisers has said that Bruce Springsteen will be one of the three headliners". Also, Paddy Power slashed their odds

Didn’t ‘Little’ Steven call the rumours ‘bullshit’ recently?

    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
