Queues for the merch were the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Hundreds of people! They must have made a fortune.

Any decent merch on offer? Nothing on the website as it stands.

No evidence for that mind. Just my feeling after playing so much of their new album (and B Sides, bonus tracks etc) at recent shows that it's unlikely to be a hits show. At the same time Damon knows what he is doing, and how festivals work so a set balanced 50/50 makes sense. Still proud to show off his new stuff while giving the crowd some familiar stuff. It may also be influenced by what guests are on site and willing to perform as a guest.

Too late now Tommy, i've taken what you've said as gospel, if just one of the hits is missed then you are taking full responsibility.

I'm not sure they have quite the flexibility - in either mindset or personnel - to do a 'hits' set.

With it being a secret set, I reckon they'll just do what they want - new stuff mainly. With it being shorter, there will just be less of it.

I can just hang around and talk to my mates loudly until a song i recognise comes on.

Yeah I've never seen anything like it. Maybe you got a bit of weed with every purchase as that's all I smelt all day.

It seemed to me that all the specific DemonDayz t shirts went very early. I wondered past at about 4.15 just before De La Soul and they all had 'sold out' stickers on them

If they get an hour, this would be my predicted setlist:

(I Switched My Robot Off)
Ascention
Last Living Souls
Saturnz Bars
Stylo
Charger
Momentz
Strobelite
Sex Muder Party
She's My Collar
Dirty Harry
Let Me Out
DARE
We Got The Power
Feel Good Inc.
Clint Eastwood

I think the set list will heavily depend on what collaborators are at the festival

Well I'd say that it makes certain songs more possible. But not having De La Soul there won't rule out Momentz (for example), as they even have it nailed with the tapes.

On the right where you came through the gates?

That was the queue for the gorillaz mobile recording studio

Was next to a merch stall

If they are on which day do you think they'll be on?  Is Sunday night a possibility?

Still just a guess but the most likely surely has to be the Sunday John Peel TBA at 17.30. A small enough stage for a performance by them to be really special but not so small that it's gonna cause massive crowd problems.

After Neil said he'd heard Gorillaz were playing and had been told where they were playing, he still thought that JP slot was gonna be Liam Gallagher, so I'm not sure.

Wasn't that going off the thought that the Other Stage was vacated by Dizzee and to be replaced by someone else on the bill?

Yep, but if he'd been told Gorillaz were on the John Peel he'd surely have thought they were in that slot and Liam must be elsewhere (potentially the Park slot)?

    • Best of all is to get the tram, then call a taxi for very short not-rip-off ride once in the centre.
    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the ‘official’ freenow taxi line ( 5 min walk from the main gate). It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
