" We’ve got lots of new stuff for this year. The big thing is Cineramageddon, which is an idea that Joe Rush and Julien Temple have had. It will be west of the Park, in an effort to move people away from the south-east corner late-night areas, to balance the crowd. It’s going to have all these amazing vintage American cars parked there, facing a huge outdoor cinema screen. And there will be all sorts of 1950s American-y stuff around. Also, we’re expanding the Temple in the Common – which is the big venue built out of old lock gates. That’s incredibly popular and it holds its sound in really well, so we’re making that bigger for 2017."

Just came in to post this! Sounds great, I never made it to the outdoor cinema when it used to be wherever it was.

Prince – why did it never happen?

Michael: We got very close several times.

Emily: He was actually confirmed to do it two years before he died, but unfortunately he pulled out after it was leaked that he was playing. And then we were actually really close again last year. We were told that he really wanted to do it. It’s such a pity that he never did.

:sorry::sorry::sorry:

Timed as a wee bit of good news after everything else that's been going down today.

I was thinking the same thing. Suddenly reading that interview took my mind off everything! Really promising.

I'm thinking Eastnor Castle for the new site:

1 land owner, in a natural valley, big site, 75 miles from Worthy Farm (close enough)

it's not a great site. I don't think it's big enough either (with usable space), tho it dependsa what size the want to make the new fest.

That was actually a very useful and very revealing q&a - hats off to the Graun for running that. Useful points are the fallow year confirmation and the commitment to continuing with the Pilton site. Michael is right too - in one interview with EE when she was in her late teens she admitted that she used to shout out to punters 'go home' cos she felt like they vere invading her home.

    • Playing a bit of devils, isn't that the case for any act? If you csn get a bigger sub or or 3rd etc the next will play lower. Tbh they would probably be best headlining second so in the kinda in between slot, that would be better. Get GC on second and Avril on main subbing Friday for Blink. But I'd expect it would be Avril sub and GC second another day.
