Assumed this was a !!! self-confirmation until the tweet loaded but aye that's good. Can make up for seeing BFMV over him at Leeds 2012, 5 years on. John Peel?

I'd have thought it'll either be there or Other.

Also I guess that's a 2-4-1 self confirm at it seems to suggests Lyenn, whoever they are, will be playing too.

I saw him supporting Dark Mark last year (he also played bass in his band) and he was very good n'all. Brooding arty folk rock type stuff.

This has totally made up for being gutted at missing out on the tour dates when I saw the UK show announcements this morning.  Dark Mark at Glastonbury, that just has to be done.  Big enough to headline The Park maybe?

I met Lanegan last year. He's exactly as grumpy and dismissive as you'd expect. I wasn't disappointed.

Anyway, clearly one of the greatest voices in music. Can't see how he'd work outdoors on a sunny day, but there you go

Mark Lanegan....that is brilliant news.

Screaming Trees one of my all time favourites...hopefully will indulge his back catalogue back that far.

Sadly he isn't one for looking back. I don't think he ever plays Screaming Trees stuff.

Me too, met him after the Union Chapel show and you're right! His voice is perfect for intimate venues, so I'll repeat what I said in another thread, I'd like to see him headline the acoustic tent.

Great news to wake up to, wherever he plays. I have a feeling this year is going to be a belter

Judging from how he speaks about it, I'm not sure he even likes that whole era of his work.

But would love to hear him singing  Winter Song - "Jesus knocking, at my door"

But with a voice like his, I'll listen to him cover Bieber and it will still sound good.

He did a couple last year on the tour. Halo of Ashes and Where the Twain Shall Meet if I remember correctly

Lucky you!  Not seem him since EOTR in about 2012. Was great then. Such an incredible sonorous voice

My personal fave is Whiskey for the Holy Ghost. Also recently re-released on vinyl. Despite him telling me after a gig a few months previously that there were no plans to do so.

Lovely bloke. A handshake, grunted a few words of thanks (I think) and on we went.

I don't think I've ever knowingly heard anything by him. Know the name but that's it, intrigued now, where's a man to start?

For the sort if stuff he's doing now? Try Blues Funeral, Phantom Radio or (my favourite) Bubblegum. There's an anthology of earlier stuff, something about God and Shadows, can't remember the exact title. Any of those will give you a flavour of what he's about.

I've seen him a few times and never heard him play any trees stuff.

Can't go wrong with any screaming trees stuff but as said above he never seems to play it. Bubblegum is my favourite of his solo stuff though, absolutely cracking album.

Halo of ashes is one of my all time favourites, so is the album though! Definitely in my top five albums ever!

    • A win is a win but it was a very poor game with only 4 shots on target in the whole game. Scotland obviously handed a massive bonus with Brazil and Morocco drawing but I don't think either of them will be too worried.
