Where did the myth of late Radiohead being 'bleepy' come from? Because that's never been even remotely accurate, even their most obscure stuff - TKOL for example is heavily rhythmic but not 'bleepy' at all.

Yeah that first started with Kid A, even though the vast majority of Kid A is done with "organic" instruments. Only Idioteque, EEIRP, Treefingers and Kid A could be described as vaguely electronic and even then not fully really. Still, I think it's partly because they haven't had as many big singles since then too so people don't know. Thom says he regrets not releasing any singles from Kid A - imagine the likes of HTDC being considered alongside big classics as Karma Police, which it should have been of course.

Kid A and HTTT have quite a few strongly electronic moments, although not that many actual bleeps spring to mind.

Actually, the only song I can immediately think of containing bleeps is Let Down!

Too boring for Saturday night headliner. Good.

Time to dig out my Reni hat so............

I'm so glad they made The Nal's dreams come true from when he started this thread:D

Haven't had a decent nights kip since June.

I can hardly believe that this looks almost a done deal. 20 years since I stood in the mud seeing them headline, 14 years since watching them play their first and so far only Pyramid headline slot follwowing The Flaming Lips, and 6 since the excitement of being front row at The Park. It's gonna be a glorious day :-)

Bjork to sub please.

And these 5 songs please in order of my personal hopes....

How To Disappear Completely (even better if they close with it)

Let Down

True Love Waits

Planet Telex

I Might Be Wrong

(+ Down Is The New Up if there is a Glastonbury miracle)

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
