  1. Gotta be honest, it's a stupid call. She ain't headlining, period. If they wanted her on the top line, give her the top job, if not, then don't.
  2. You and I were both at that TiTP show, our first Radiohead gig if I'm not wrong. I found a review of it online a few years ago which listed both Electioneering and Lift as being played that night, but not Let Down. However all the setlists you can find online don't mention any of these songs alas, and the bootlegs, which are great don't have them either.
  3. You know I'd say this, but 1997 is still the one for me. My favourite Glasto set ever, pipping Mr Bowie by a whisker. Probably due to a mixture of me thinking the new album was so amazing, and also it was a sweet relief to just stop.... from the slogging around in the rivers of mud of three days, forget all that for a couple of hours, and take in the performance. Shame there isn't a nice HD video of this one.
  4. I'd see them against any of AM / GnR / Elton in a heartbeat. Personally I think they should headline, but the festival seems to have other ideas presumably.
  5. Some of these ludicrous comments must just be right wing bots right? No other explanation for comment saying they "love" Pink Floyd, and to not understand the logo?

    Guns n Roses

I think the day most, if not all ? the other members of the band left / were sacked by Axl back in the mid 90's, was the moment the band broke up. Just because Axl continued to use the name for years afterwards, doesn't mean Axl and his session friends / bucket headed guitarists were GnR in anything other than legally owned name.
  7. Apparently a lot of morons have been moaning about this on social media would you believe. Completely oblivious to the significance of the logo in Pink Floyd's canon, "why have they used the rainbow colours" etc. etc. You couldn't make it up.
  8. To be fair to Neil, GnR have been pretty much the definition of a joke since all the other members left in the 90's after the Illusion albums. Basically Axl and a bunch of session muso's for donkey's years, not to mention a guitarist who wore a KFC bucket on his head. Didn't he spend years and years promising a new album as well, and it took until 2008, it was bloody awful by all accounts, and since then zip again since. I haven't been a fan since the early 90's but I'm assuming Slash and Duff being brought back in was a purely business decision, didn't they all hate each other with a passion?
  9. They headlined in 1995 as a last minute stand in for the Stone Roses, and again in 1998. Who knows if they would / could have headlined in 2011 but they had to play the secret set, due to the fact they were advertised as exclusive to the Wireless Festival at Hyde Park that was the weekend after Glasto. Plenty of acts headline who have very little current appeal. Even the great David Bowie headlined in 2000 when he hadn't been flavour of the month for a very very long time and many questioned the booking. See how that turned out. Presumably there would be a lot of people getting very excited if Blur were to headline again, and I don't see much difference between them and Pulp, with regards to relevance over the last 20 years, apart from one rather average Blur album in 2015. No doubt Oasis would headline in a heartbeat if they reformed as well.
  10. They are one of those bands, Jarvis in particular it seems that seem to have an affinity with the festival historically. Not to mention one of the all time classic headline performances, and also one of the best, if not THE best secret Park set ever. They would make a fantastic headliner, even if in pure size terms in might not make the most sense. If they were to sub AM, to me at least it would almost be an insult.
  11. Is there anything concrete to suggest Pulp won't / can't headline? Surely a far better headline prospect than either AM or GnR.
  12. I was there and it was extremely boring. Would imagine it would be even more boring this time around. I missed half of Portishead for it too, which is a crying shame.
