It took me less than ten seconds to say I didn't know who he was, how much of his back catalogue could I expect to cover in that time?

Sorry - didn't say listen tho his back catalgoue music and come up with review - I just meant - literally find out who was the wiki page comes right up -

I am not a big fan, but I did know who he was, given the aclaim hes had for some of his older stuff etc - but then I am fairly eclectic in that way...

Just listened to a bit of D'Angelo. Dull. Won't be watching, totally out of place if he is a Pyramid sub!

Work for Emily Eavis do you? How people think they know what should be playing where based on previous years really gets on my goat.

She can curate the festival in which ever way she chooses.

Why would he be out of place as a pyramid sub?

Didn't expect to be jumped on like that!

Of course they can curate the festival in whatever way they like. It'll just go down like a lead balloon.

He really isn't dull. Not into soul/funk then maybe not everyones taste but he is someone who you need to listen to the album not the top track on Spotify/Youtube.

Older stuff may sound a little dated now but the previous two were 1996 and 2000 - 'Black Messiah' is as relevant, cool and epic as Kendrick's equally critically acclaimed 'To Pimp A Butterfly' and with similar messages.

Sorry Paulmuchmore... its just I cannot bear the idea that the festival should be this way or that... it just makes me go a little cray cray.

lead ballon or not - thems the breaks and the fall out from taking risks...

To be fair he'd be before the dullest headliner in history so I don't think that's a problem

Haha, very true!

To all the others who are fans, yes, maybe I need to give him more of a chance, but it's not really my sort of thing. It just really doesn't scream Pyramid sub to me. I'll most likely be elsewhere on site anyway, if Chvrches are on before New Order I'll be there! You'd just kind of expect that alongside the biggest act in the world right now, they'd have another big current act rather than someone that probably not a single person in the world would have considered for that slot!

I've heard of him. No songs spring to mind though but will give him a listen as I do with all acts I don't really know much of.

I think the drip feed idea is realistic and I can't see him subbing any act on the Pyramid. Good reviews by the musical snobbery of the music press doesn't mean anything some acts have always got great reviews but will never sub the Pyramid.

I love Black Messiah - it is simply brilliant - but like all true works of genius it needs a good few listens. Given the critical acclaim it recieved and the live reviews I am surprised at how instantly dismissive people are. Great booking and only Kendrick could have topped it for me.

is it possible that he is placed high enough up the poster for people to notice ? if he was put at the bottom in small font then fewer people would spot it ? and therefore the drip feed theory is correct and at some point these will get reshuffled

I think that could be the case (assuming of course he isn't subbing).

Whatever's actually going on, this board is going to have major ants in pants syndrome if they start randomly drip feeding acts. Typical of Glastonbury to do something completely bizarre with no fanfare at all :P

Hopefully they've got a good irrigation system laid out at the Pyramid, after everyone has been bored to tears there on the Saturday night it'd be unfair for the Sunday acts.

I am not dismissive, I have genuinely never heard of him.

I listened and loved To pimp a butterfly on the back of recommendations on here. I will download that album and see what I think.

that's odd, so who get smaller then? because the left and right side of the poster is still the same size, and Hinds and Lapsley are still aligned with Grimes.

Anyway, do we expect more small update like this (in the style of 'The Life of Pablo' :D) as we go along or is this a one time thing ?

Yep, one of these a day until June :)

    • Top 5 acts of the weekend for me: 1. The Cure 2. my bloody valentine  3. caroline 4. Father John Misty 5. Big Thief   Biggest disappointments: - Slowdive (the mixing/sound just wasn’t right, and that was about 20 rows from the front of the stage) - The xx (also too quiet and marred by talkers who had no interest in the music)    Positives from an organisational sense: - extra water point at Mordor this year - handing out ponchos before the rain and ear plugs before mbv    However…two of the water points had ran out on Saturday evening, which is completely unacceptable when you stop people from bringing in large bottles of water, and charge €4.50 at the bars for a 330ml can
