I've just stuck Black Messiah on, not what I expected, pretty funky, i'm only on track 1 but it sounds good

sounds very West Holts

Yeah but if you look at the poster, he's probably Adele sub. West Holts headliner would be odd in that spot.

On the other had, they did only add him later on...

Few albums have had the critics drooling as much as that in recent years. It is surprisingly good.

I agree he'd more naturally be a West Holts headliner, but hard to understand why they'd slot him in that spot on the poster if he wasn't subbing.

Could this be a new way of drip feeding big acts before stage-by-stage line up announcements?

(Probably not)

I did think there was a bit of space down at the bottom that could've been filled....

Saw him last year at Camden Roundhouse.  He's incredible.  This has made my day!

Surely not big enough for Pyramid sub then?

I'd like to see him though, hope he is on early some day.

The only D'angelo I know of is D'angelo Barksdale.

Im more surprised that someone I have never heard of at all is that high up the poster.... I am obviously getting old.

His biggest (I think) album was 16 years ago :P

I've only heard of him from people praising his last album in 2014 on this forum.

I'd have guessed WH headliner but his position on the poster does seem odd, along with Beck's.

Hope they are the Pyramid subs, though, allowing Disclosure to be Friday Other and LCD Sunday :P

    • When are  the stage splits ??
    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
