Wait, there are seriously people who don't know who D'Angelo is?  What a world.

Anyway, got to be WH headliner unless Adele has specifically requested him, right?

Her son is called Angelo if I recall correctly.

Overheard in Pilton .....

"So Adele called, she asked if she can bring Angelo with her"

"Ok, no problem". *Googles Angelo, Singer*

*hmmm there is a D'Angelo, he lives in the US, so does Adele, must be him*. *Calls D'Angelo's agent"

"So Adele has asked if D'Angelo will play Glastonbury with her"

D'Angelos Agent - "Of course, Amazing" *I have the easiest job ever*

This is very odd,

I think when the poster was out people mentioned how odd to see BECK name with that big of a size. The only change to the poster is to his size, and they put in D'Angelo in between..

Which makes me wonder, perhaps Radiohead was in the poster, but last minute was taken off, maybe something happen and they are not playing anymore? Then perhaps the festival was scrambling for last minute pyramid sub replacement and D'Angelo was the best thing they could get?

I'm pretty sure Beck is still the same size. LCD Soundsystem have gotten bigger and the gaps between acts have got smaller. That's all I can see has changed.

The size of Beck's font has stayed the same it's just the colour that's changed. LCD Soundsystem, however, has nearly doubled in height

that's odd, so who get smaller then? because the left and right side of the poster is still the same size, and Hinds and Lapsley are still aligned with Grimes.

Anyway, do we expect more small update like this (in the style of 'The Life of Pablo' :D) as we go along or is this a one time thing ?

His latest album was incredibly critically acclaimed. Anydecentmusic.com who amalgamate all music reviews into an average score have it as the second best album in the last 7 years amongst some very esteemed company. I've tried it numerous times but to me, it's just ok. Would love to chill middle of the day watching but wouldn't be sub or headliner material for me.

  1. 9.3

Kendrick Lamar To Pimp A Butterfly

  2. 9.1

D'Angelo And The Vanguard Black Messiah

  3. 8.9

    Frank Ocean Channel Orange

  4. 8.8

    Anaïs Mitchell Hadestown

  5. 8.8

Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

  6. 8.8

    Sufjan Stevens Carrie & Lowell

  7. 8.8

    Deafheaven Sunbather

  8. 8.7

    Sleater-Kinney No Cities To Love

  9. 8.7

what I don't get is that all the people logging on to say "who" (which for some reason I hear in my head as the Marc and Lard ............."whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

Don't just use that time / internet bandwith to have look online to find out who he is?

Albumoftheyear.org (also aggregates ratings) has Black Messiah as album of 2014, and Voodoo as album of 2000, above Kid A.

Like you I've given him a try in the past and didn't enjoy it. Not my thing.

As we all know, the festival is organised from a single desktop computer running Windows 95 in Michael Eavis’s shed. I expect his name got left off in some kind of mix up when their dial up connection cut out. They’ll be putting it back in so high up as an apology.

Just did and can't say it grabbed me. As someone said, just bland r'n'b. Mary J Blige slot for sure.

It took me less than ten seconds to say I didn't know who he was, how much of his back catalogue could I expect to cover in that time?

There's absolutely zero chance of an act who appeared on the poster without so much as a tweet to attract attention to it subbing the Pyramid.

Having said that given the positive reports on here from people who are fans I'm sure he'll do well in whatever slot he ends up.

I am really surprised by the lack of knowledge on D'Angelo and that isn't in a bragging way, just because many of the people on here who say they don't know him usually know loads of the acts that I have to really read up on and none of them are anywhere near as big as I perceive D'Angelo! Good article below from his comeback, his live shows are 5 star reviews as are the albums.

    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
