Weather 2016

Sat here in my living room 15 mins from the site.

Spare room got piles of clothes dotted around it ready to be packed.

I can't think about anything else apart from getting through those gates now.

Let's face it the weather is going to be fine. We can all deal with mud.

Now 3 sleeps to get out of the way. Work on Monday (well turn up at the office and do bugger all)

Anyone else going to spend Monday evening listening to worthy fm and watching England?

What's the Worthy FM frequency and how far out can it be picked up? I'll be watching England on Monday and picking up Worthy on the drive down Tues :)

87.7fm as you get close. There is probably a map somewhere online which shows the broadcast range :)

Cheers Joey I'll have a look :)

BBC are showing heavy rain all tomorrow evening and night- is this the consensus amongst other forecasters? If the site is waterlogged for opening day, it could cause significant delays arriving on site (car park troubles etc) and getting through the gates. Think we need to slightly alter our weather focus to the next 3 days as they will be pivotal in determining whether the site dries up in time

Met Office has heavy rain tomorrow evening overnight, not easing until around 1300 Monday; thereafter it's ok, though Thurs could throw up a shower.

Obviously all could still change but I do now think the site is in for another soaking before we all arrive en mass.

Initially wellies and cider I reckon, flip flops and g & t's on standby.

4 more sleeps :)

After all that rain I've seen no evidence on webcam or any pics today of standing water in any grassed area - as such I don't believe the ground is saturated. If it could handle this week it can handle a fast moving belt of light rain on Sunday night.

The fast moving belt of rain is likely to be a tad on the heavy side, a bit more demanding on the drainage.

some of the rain over this past week has seemed unbelievably heavy though such as that thunder storm over the site a day or two ago. If the drainage can deal with that volume of water along with the other rain that has fallen over the past week or so then I think it'll be fine for when we arrive on wednesday/thursday

Exactly - tweet from green fields says -  Site is wet and muddy in places where the traffic has been moving. But footpaths are dry and fields are green! #Glastonbury2016

yes! can't help but think that we have been very lucky (still got my fingers firmly crossed though).

Agreed, but there will be mud, with wellies / boots needed initially. The camping areas will be fine, the walkways will be sticky.

    • Nearly half owed to UK pension funds and banks, a third to foreign investors and the rest to the Bank of England.  We can say we won't pay the interest or the loans back but who would lend us 100 billion again next year? The Bank of England are selling their portion  at the moment which I read is making things worse so we should tell them to stop but I don't really understand why that is.
    • Gotta be worth a bump for old times sake
    • Let's hope you're right - having secret set by Olivia Rodrigo would be huge. It might even overshadow the Thursday trainwreck.   We'll see in a couple of hours.
    • Yet again we’re missing the WH Sunday reggae slot
    • Occident has got larger over the years and there's relatively little overlap with mbv and OR fans that I think it would work fine as it would divide the crowd so effectively.   They don't even need to give the biggest stage from an optics perspective either, this would be billed as a secret short set and used to promote her new album.
