Yeah it's bad, but I think hair washing you need to be by the sink as it uses lots of water.  You should probably be more community minded and do it at less busy times tho.

But teeth brushing takes ages, but doesn't need much water. You can do it by your tent with a small amount of water from a bottle.

Woke up. After the kids had jumped all over me saying happy Father's Day the first thing I done was check this thread. Still up the air then

met office is saying rain on and off today through to 2pm tomorrow (heavy through the night). If correct gives the site about 42 hours to dry out to a reasonable level before the masses get all over it. That means walking boots first couple of days and if no rain then trainers from then on in.

I have decided that the most important thing to do is stop spending every minute of the day checking this thread and get packing so that I'm prepared whatever happens!

In all seriousness, I'm reasonably optimistic - the forecast from Tuesday onwards looks OK on the majority of weather sites. I've got some decent, comfortable walking boots which should see me through, plus the sheer joy of being there again is going to help a lot! I'm not arriving until Thursday afternoon, so will be checking what all you lucky Wednesdayers have to say about the state of the ground!

Don't they use the long range forcast posted on the BBC website yesterday afternoon?

Yep, they seem to be considered weather gods on these boards based solely on them getting it right once several years ago. Nowadays it barely mentions Glastonbury specifically and it's based on old data.

Probably sound advice - I've become obsessed over the last 24hours as I have to pack today due to working all day tomorrow and then setting off to Bristol Tuesday morning- Ive set aside too much stuff and need to decide  what to not bother packing!

Yeh but you don't need to wash your hair at all

If you have long hair it can get pretty grim and sometimes hair washing is necessary, don't think it should be done at the taps though, really selfish behaviour.

I wash my hair in a bucket by my tent about half way through the festival, only if it's a sunny day. I then use the soapy water + shower gel to give myself a good once over with a flannel. You feel like a new woman afterwards!

All eco friendly products so I do pour it into the ground - is that still bad??

When I know that it is rubbish - why do I still insist on looking at Metcheck? It appears that Nal does the Sunday shift of the 'put your hand in the bag and randomly select some figures' which is Metchecks forecasting system!

I just showed the drone video of Glastonbury to my four year old daughter and she said  'hmm...it doesn't look too muddy'.

Obviously my husband and I have been talking too much about this thread and she has tuned into our worries!

She also predicts that it will rain next week though. So, she is currently grounded.

Only fair. They've got to learn.

Most years I'm a bit narked that we always arrive on a Thursday morning. This year might be one of the years I'm a bit thankful.

You are probably right, although we arrived about midnight Wednesday in 2011.  Was the worst time I've ever had getting onsite, the state of the ground around the gate for a good few hundred meters either side made trolleys pointless.  I reckon it took us an hour to get from car park to Dairy ground and we just basically set up our tents in the mud and collapsed for the night after a run to the lockups.
