So now I'm finally going (aaaahhhh) I'm migrating to this thread. I'm doing my sun dance and the gods are on my side so I'm predicting heat waves and lots of dryness ha!

Honestly, after this band of rain it is clear skies for days, going to be warm and muggy (due to the sodden ground).  Pack your suncream, don't forget a decent hat and stay hydrated.  Footing might be a bit trying first couple of days but I'm confident that the weekend will be just fine.

Looking back at the recorded rainfall for previous years, I actually think some websites are forecasting 2016 to be worse than 2007. The rain before the festival is worse and at least 2007 had a dry start and the biggest storm was at the very end.

We can only pray that they are wrong.

It's raining consistently and reasonably heavily here in Devon now.  Hopefully it all falls on us before it reaches a Somerset but I guess it's part of the same band of rain.

Unless that's changed drastically very recently we're still predicted a dry festival aren't we? Be some pre-existing mud but nothing much to make it worse once we're there.

tis lovely down here at the mo old sons.....hope it stays that way but looks like weve another front thats gonna pass through later today or tonight

Smashing news for a bit at least. Think people are massively underestimating the effects wind and warmth have on the ground , might be a bit squelchy for a day or so but if we get a nice 36-48 hours it'll make a world of difference.

Keep the faith.

I for one welcome the mud. Bring it the FUCK on! The sun'll be out while we're there are that's all that matters.

As long as it doesn't cause a health and safety violation when Muse bring out their Drones it's all good. Glastonbury would be ruined without them

Metcheck, Weather Outlook, Myweather2, Weather-forecast, Xcweather

Weather Outlook has been the most accurate site over the last 3 years

I prefer proper metereological offices - the met and yr.no. These other lot just spout random nonsense to make a few quid.

My overwhelming memory of 07 was walking round on Thursday morning in the pouring rain trying to find a place to camp. Then it rained a LOT from then on.

And yet yr.no has been no more accurate in previous years than these 'random nonsense' websites.

Been pouring here in Dublin for the past 2 hours non-stop proper, wet and looks like this is what is headed over to the site so it will do a bit of damage later tonight just depends on how the site can recover once its passed :-(

The first wave that hit Ireland and Wales was further north so missed the site.

But it's square in the path of the second wave, which is what the folk in Devon seems to be experiencing at the minute.

Yeah, but Wednesday was completely dry. Not a drop of rain until the early hours of Thursday morning.

Yup....although there is a slim chance that the site could miss the worst of it if current track continues....

    • Olivia Rodrigo is here. There's no way though, right?? I'd miss mbv for her I think

    • What I didn't like was Pinkpantheress set. Coming from Jade, it was impossible to get even a half-decent spot. You could manage to get a decent-ish view, but the sound was just terrible.

    • Standardly perfect day at Primavera yesterday.   Highlights:   Rilo Kiley - kinda smallish crowd, comparing to Geese, but man, they sounded great.   The Cure - finally saw them for the first time and loved every minute (left during Close to Me).   Jade (arrived during FUFN) - amazing voice, perfect vibes, great show.   The Levi's Plaza - I went there just after Somos la herencia and when I decided to take a pee break and saw the line of people waiting to get inside to see Rose Gray, I rescheduled the pee break for later. She had a fun little set in front of a very small (but very dedicated) audience. I don't understand why the capacity limit of this stage was so low. However, MANY people were watching from outside the "plaza". If you're looking for a feeling of exclusive experience and dedicated crowd and have 30 minutes to spare, this is the right stage. Also, to whoever recommended Babymorocco, thanks, it was kinda silly, but very high energy set. I would definitely come back to this stage today, if not for the clashes.
