Nope, they're in Croisent Neuf.

Which only goes to show that you can put a previous headliner on on a small stage. :P

And even easier if the stage concerned happens to be within an area that has a crowd access management system!

Just saying.

I know that - just wondered if Scottie knew they were there too

I just have a high degree of vitriolic sarcasm, especially as there's no football - my guess is actually they're showing the Iceland v Republic Of Ireland Game live from Toulouse (despite saying no football)

PS: notice it says 'sets' and not 'djs', too - it's defo not a reference to (just) djs - tho of course that doesn't have to mean rh.

I would take 'sets' as in dj  sets. Another Thom Yorke dj set is more than likely, Radiohead playing somewhere is not happening. Superstar is also a phrase used for 'superstar' djs. Carl Cox or someone like Sasha doing a surprise set is more likely.

yep, and because 'superstar' is used for djs, it would have probably said superstar djs if it meant just djs.

As I said, that doesn't have to mean RH. They've had Pete Doherty, Madness, gaga and others up there over the years.

But I think it means more than just DJs.

Ok i've kind of lost track of this now.

Can someone give me a low down, from the back pages i've read since the full line come out we're thinking late night set in SE corner? or Thom DJ set somewhere?

And they're nailed on for 2017?

PD, Madness and Gaga up where?

Didn't Florence pop up somewhere in SE corner last year?  want to say NYC dowlow?

Have you heard anything about Tame Impala? Were they always down for that slot do you know? It has the feeling of a late-ish replacement to me. Can't see why they would be kept off the first poster.

Looks like you're right about that - Kevin Parker interview on i-D (Vice), yesterday:

You've been announced as the headliner before Adele on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury. How does that feel?
Pretty amazing! I've known for two weeks and it's just been really frustrating not being able to talk to anyone about it. We were talking about whether we were going to play Glastonbury a while ago, and it wasn't looking good, we couldn't get a spot on one of the stages and I was genuinely bummed. It's always just a good excuse to go. I'm playing a DJ set with Mark Ronson the same night [Tame Impala] are playing, and we booked that before, just as a way to get there! Actually, our first time at Glastonbury we played on the Pyramid stage, but it was like 11:30 in the morning and there was no one there, we were playing to people coming out of their tents, rubbing their eyes and stuff! [This time around] it's really going to be a life fulfillment!

So perhaps they were still talking to the 'Head until a couple of weeks ago.

I doubt it. It's not like the festival would pursue Radiohead to subheadline for months and months when they're really a headline-only type band and if they were to play the festival it would've been out of a mutual want.

Maybe they had plans for the Bowie thing that Emily did say they were talking to.

It's also quite amazing that Impala weren't in the original plans and they were actually asking for (and seemingly denied) a spot on the bill.

Emily and Nick must've not liked Currents either!

Might be The D'Angelo Conundrum

But that slot didn't feel right for him, either.

I think yer man from the West Holts already gave us the solution for that one.

Or perhaps Emily thought they would get away with the secret sub-headliner until a bright young editor of a festival website proudly pointed out his Radiohead t-shirt.

Quick sign them Oxford boys as next year's headliner and get that Docile Impala to sub instead.

Very interested to see what is played tonight. 2 hour set time so probably a bit shorter than the other shows, although next band does not come for an hour and 45 mins, so maybe they are given liberty to play longer if they like. Would love to see Wolf at the Door make its way out tonight.

    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.
    • Seems like the most obvious choice. Surprised they havent played since 2019 either.

    • Yep it was on my list, id have loved to have gone.
    • Am a relative amateur in the ticket/tech shenanigans and not part of a large group etc. but personally preferred the F5 bashing approach and got through twice in recent yrs (plenty when didn't, mind) - 2023 but it crashed on me at the final hurdle and then again in 2024 where I held my nerve when it crashed again and managed to get.  Think now I am committed to volunteering if doing festivals as that's close to my heart, so happy to help others when the time comes round.   The most impressive I've seen was bus sales in 2022 when 2 mates casually bagged tickets while in San Sebastian, on a phone inside the stadium during a Real Sociedad v Man Utd game!
