When they released the cast for the new series last year, Eddie Vedder was on it.  I thought that was weird until read an article somewhere (now desperately trying to find the link!), where it said he was doing lots of the music and it would be "of the time".  The reason it gave was because a lot of the show's content will cover the 25 years and that grunge was developed in Washington at the time.  I'll keep looking....

That being said, when he released Out of Sand it didn't sound particularly grungy.

Ah good point about the time and location. Eddie Vedder isn't very grungey nowadays though as you say - not very Twin Peaks-y either but the time and location makes it a fit I guess. I'm sure it'll be fine.

There are three acts I'm hoping to see UK dates from before the end of year - LCD, QOTSA and Wolf Alice.
