I think playing Lovelock down in the middle, plus longer versions of Paris and Blood on the leaves. Could have made it almost perfect

Love Lockdown and Through The Wire would have been amazing, as well as Flashing Lights, but with the sheer volume he's put out, there will always be omissions. And look at the notes next to those songs! Look at the concessions he made to get the casuals on side; No Church In The Wild, Niggas In Paris, Four Five Seconds, a Queen singalong, I wouldn't ask any more of him, same as I wont ever complain about Flashbulb Eyes or Normal Person last year.

I think Through  the wire and flashlights would have been played if he had more time, he seemed a bit pissed with 7 minutes left

yeah Flashing Lights was the only real omission i noticed. was really hoping it was coming late set but it never did :( really not too fussed on Through The Wire. also wish he'd drop Heartless. i know it was quite a big hit for him but it does absolutely nothing for me

Never liked it myself, but the crowd around me loooooved it, so it was a lot of fun.

or if you're the one on before Kanye,

5. Whenever you come to England you know you'll see the prettiest girls.

6. English girls put your hands up.

7. I love you Glastonberry, especially all the English girls with English blood.

8. Look at my dancers 'the baes' who I'm going to objectify before they start dancing for you.

Tedious.

Shit.

Did anyone see chipmunk in 2011, that was the worst shit I've ever seen, apparently all the women in the crowd were his, fucking shit idiot prick

I'm not really sure if this is a joke post?

I don't think childrens parties are a great way of judging what has musical clout at the time or 'musical credit' whatever the fuck that means.

Shall we take a quick look at the current top 10? in the top 10 there's Tinie Tempah, Major Lazer, Jason Derulo, Flo Rida and Fetty Wap. All of this is either 'urban' or heavily influenced by 'urban' music. I refuse to believe that these records are solely being bought in London or metropolitan centres.

The point you missed is that when there are a zillion young folk buying singles a lot of them do so for 'cool' acts rather than ones that really get them up and dancing and enjoying themselves.

Rap isn't beat poetry and it's pretty offensive to say it is, beat poetry is fundamentally the preserve of white intellectuals and Rap and Hip Hop comes from essentially black inner city poverty.

Now who's discriminating who can speak words with rhythm sometimes over music? I've seen black girls do it - that'd really bake your noodle - and they said nigger without it sounding like a kid finding the first swear they can get away with. Music doesn't like fitting into boxes

Gazza, did Kanye do a poo in your tent at some point this weekend? Can only assume it was to have warranted the amount of boring vitriol from you over Kanye - assume you left straight away? Went and saw something you liked?

You actually think I turned up to have a chance to leave?! I went to see a spectacle instead yes.

So how do you explain the consistent popularity of these acts then? You'd think these young people would know? or are they too dumb to realise and they need you to tell them what to listen to? Please mate you're quite clearly chatting shit on this point, the majority of the people young and old who regularly buy music seem to like 'urban' music. It's why it's been in the charts for so long and continues to be, same is true of dance music. It might not be what you see in your local areas or people you interact with but the stats don't lie fella.

I'm not saying who could and who couldn't do anything but beat poetry originated from an incredibly literate predominantly white background, Ginsberg and Kerouac etc. My point was that beat poetry has nothing to do with rap or hip hop or 'urban' other than the fact that words and and music exist at the same time and so your original point that people should go and listen to beat poetry instead of rap was, well, pointless.

Pharrell was the worst thing ever to be staged on the pyramid.

I presume your hobbies include misogyny?

I completely agree and I am very glad the standard Russy rage is being directed to Pharrell not Kanye. I really hope Emily watched Pharrell and realised a massive fucking error had been made somewhere in the booking policy.

one thing i dont understand is when people say it "went downhill after the first few songs"? like where??  at the cruel summer stuff? Mercy is a brilliant track, yeah i guess he should have skipped clique it doesnt translate well to a festival (imo).

other than that?? skipped the chief keef cover? ok ill give you that too. maybe not worth it (i loved it). but maybe ppl didnt know the track.

as for I Wonder. WHAT A CHOICE! have you seen the lyrics?? definitely was in there for a reason. He rarely plays it but he played it at glastonbury. Dont think it was a coincidence.

Still cant believe i was there for the set. dont think ill ever forget it. as for the flag. wonder if they had a flag against downloading child porn? prob not i guess.
