can't wait to hear the reinvention though.  do we reckon he's sold all his guitars and bought turntables, or sold all his turntables and bought guitars?

You fear? Surely its a good thing. It will stop any jibes about just playing the same old songs for money, and it might even be good. New Order headlining the Other is confirmation enough that Stone Roses aren't playing. That clash would never happen, because New Order's crowd would be tiny.

It's going against Adele....it's likely to be that big anyway.

New Order will get a bigger crowd against Adele than they would against Stone Roses. Adele's will be huge, but there are plenty of people who have no interest in watching her. She won't get a crowd as big as Rolling Stones for a start. If it was Stone Roses on the Pyramid, they would take away a big chunk of New Order's crowd. Adele won't take away much of New Order's potential crowd at all.

I think you may be over-looking how many of New Order's potential crowd have partners that put up with most of their festival choices (and have done for years) but are putting their feet down about "at least seeing a bit" of Adele! :(

Luckily for me (if I get a ticket), mine likes New Order and has no interest in Adele, but if she did like Adele, that is one clash I would not be giving in with.

the stone roses are making an announcement at 2pm on absolute radio.

they would't announce a glasto set on the radio. it's new music or more tour dates

was just about to post this - so far nothing to substantiate an announcement only rumours but I have absolute on anyhow :P

Id be a afeard of seeing New Order as every live footage Ive ever seen of them has me turning off at the flat dull vocals of Sumner. Ive never got how this is never a 'thing' when Ian Brown gets so much stick?

"Rumours of a stone roses announcement imminent as well" - Absolute Radio...so definitely not them doing the announcing

your absolute radio is quicker than mine! I got that about 30 secs after you posted.

just reading through Twitter, a music journo claims to have had a press release saying its new music they are announcing. So far thats all we have to go on apart from the DJ on absolute saying 'rumours of an announcement'

I really hope he's made a Yaz record personally

    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
