I'm going for a couple of outsiders:

The Fall. Their tour finishes on May 31st and they have a small festival on June 5th.

James - Announcement post IOW, Bearded Theory and their last tour date. Kendal Calling unaffected as that has sold out already

And you consider The Stone Roses as Other Stage headliners?

yeah very unlikely and would be weak headliners.....but we're 2 and a half months out and GF have only just sorted their 3rd headliner so it might not be a particularly strong one?

Good shout - I think The Fall could be a shout. Surprised they haven't been mentioned much...

Either way we should know whether it's florence or not headlining.

If she's on the poster she's not headlining.

If she isn't then could it be.. But why hold it back.

I think she will be on the poster,

it seemed to be that it was being held back because of other shows? but she doesn't have any

I'm surprised it's not going to be florence tbh.

Why has she done no other UK festivals just to sub the pyramid. Obviously she will get the TV coverage from the BBC but that's the only positive.

Promoting the new album and not getting the the slots at festivals she could quite easily get if she so wished.

I can't see Emily and the festival choosing Blur over Florence.

Having a band who played only 6 years ago and would likely churn out the same set (with a few of The Magic Whip songs thrown in) in favour of an act who would really benefit from the bump up makes little sense.

I much (much, much) prefer Blur to Florence - but I'd rather see Florence headline ahead of them. Not that I'd be there, but it is at least a booking I can see some sense in. Blur - I cannot see what that booking will achieve and just seems a lazy booking.

I just have a sneaky feeling its McCartney. Even though Blur are the most likely.

1. Neil thought it was a solo act early in the week.

2. Has tickets to sell.

3. Exclusive somewhere else for "announcent problems"

4. Glasto shaped hole.

Also fits the, 'he's British but the band aren't' comment, though this would flatten the idea that the act was booked about a week ago.

Just caught up with everything after a busy day in Brighton. Thank you Neil for all the new info, much appreciated.

I am sad if confirmed that Prince is not headlining as I would have loved that. Still, if he pops his little purple bell bottoms over here for a few gigs then I'll go and see him then.

If it's Blur (seems likely all things considered) or FM (less likely now due to being greedy chops) then I would happily watch either. If it's Flo then I'll be at West Holts or The Park or somewhere else.

Still, Dr Alice Roberts is doing a lecture on the Saturday it seems so there's always that.

Grace Jones was great at Bestival a few years ago. If she plays, then that's a fun booking.

Another thing that could possibly point to Blur: BST launched a payment plan for tickets this week, which could suggest they've had word (from Blur or whoever) that they need to start shifting tickets even quicker.

Good point! .. It all starts to make a lot of sense all of a sudden!

If Blur aren't a big enough draw to sell tickets for BST then are they still good enough to headline Glastonbury? I think it they don't announce them until June it will be a bit of an anti climax.

Yes they are still good enough. The BST issue isn't the band, it's a mixture of poor venue, ridiculous ticket prices and poor support acts.

I'm hoping for Blur just to save me from the horror of having to go Hyde Park.

A lot of acts struggle to sell out these BST gigs, so I don't think it has any impact on the headline credibility really.

Its now pretty common knowledge now that Hyde Park isn't a great venue, and that you can either pick up a ticket easily on the day, or get a bargain in the weeks before the gigs. So I'm not surprised when they don't sell out anymore.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
