I can't see Emily and the festival choosing Blur over Florence.

Having a band who played only 6 years ago and would likely churn out the same set (with a few of The Magic Whip songs thrown in) in favour of an act who would really benefit from the bump up makes little sense.

I much (much, much) prefer Blur to Florence - but I'd rather see Florence headline ahead of them. Not that I'd be there, but it is at least a booking I can see some sense in. Blur - I cannot see what that booking will achieve and just seems a lazy booking.

Decaf next time.

it seems though that neils info could be coming from some of the best sources around... Hard to discredit it.

If everything Neil has said is true, then I reckon it's Blur.. Simply because if Emily did ask again, I can see Damon saying yes much more than Mick. Judging on relationship with the festival and friendship... Plus Damon techniqually has already filled in for a band last minute before. So I expect that he understands when Emily says, could you headline for us? It means a bit more than just a standard offer.

Heck thinking about it, maybe this is the first offer blur had to headline this year? Maybe the no's in the interviews didn't come from them choosing not to play but because they hadn't been asked at the time. Also you kinda have to consider that some people will just flat out lie... Not everyone does the dodge the question method.

was just thinking that myself. Surprised to see Blur aren't 'SR'.

Why? I'm curious, they are playing BST and IOW and I don't think they'd be a band they'd hold back in an announcement, don't get me wrong I like Blur and I would watch them, but I don't think it'll be them

I guess the announcement would be held back to allow BST and IOW to sell tickets.

Whoever said it could be ainsley harriott, I really can't see it. Do u really think hes big enough to headline the pyramid? None of my mates know much about him. Maybe that says more about my mates tho?

That makes sense I know, but I still don't see it, that's a lot for one band to play in a short period of times in terms of festivals, and I know G don't usually take that into consideration, but I just can't tell myself it's Blur

Was more that 'the forum' seems set that it's Blur but Neil (who had the conversations yesterday) still has them at just a rumour. Just thought he may have put them to SR if he was quietly confident so perhaps they aren't so certain.

FWIW, I don't think it's Blur either but struggling to see anyone else unless it's really random or Macca.

I got that impression when they said no anyway.

It was different to Fleetwood Mac, who actually made a point of saying 'we're definitely not playing and people buying tickets because they think we might be should stop'. That one seemed like they'd been asked and either said no or couldn't reach an agreement.

I'm with you on this one, I just don't understand why they would hold back on it.

IOW and BST sales won't effect glastonbury?

because announcing for glastonbury affects IOW and BST sales

Glastonbury have no reason to announce with it already being sold out, so out of courtesy let IOW and BST have there potential sales of an extra 150,000+ people

I am finding it hard to tell now who is being a windup merchant now and who has genuine views,

I think there needs to be a pinned thread at the top of the forum that must be read daily before going onto any of the other forums

ACDC are in Scotland
Muse are in Belgium
The Who are in Paris
Ed Sheeran is in the States

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
