I had tickets for Wolverhampton (and my hotel booked and paid for) but couldn't make it. I was gutted. Was it a good gig?

Aye it was brilliant to be fair, a perfect set list with nice amount of lesser know songs like Sing and Trimm Trabb. I think they've got a lot of material they could use to refresh their set if they did play again, drop a couple of Parklife tracks in place of On Your Own, Pop scene etc.

Nah in 2004 Muse were headlining the 2nd Stage at TITP opposite The Darkness, and in 2010 they were selling out multiple nights at Wembley Stadium.

And in 2009 Blur were on essentially a greatest hits reunion tour after a few years away, whereas now they're an active concern plugging a new album. I wasn't saying that nothing changed for Muse/Coldplay between their appearances, just that it's false to say that Blur are in the exact same position as they were in 2009.

The whole "change of status" thing is bollocks anyway - Glastonbury has repeated so few headliners over the years that to try and draw a pattern is meaningless.

If it's Blur they'll be doing something that I don't think they've done in the last 20 years: repeated a headliner without an obvious change of status.

REM 99/03

As for why not bump up Florence, maybe she can't make the Sunday, maybe they need a strong draw in her current spot for crowd reasons...

haha! make me laugh so much! I said i doubt it would be blur headlining, if they do then fine! I said if blur were to play which i doubt then i think it would be on the other stage as i do think there is a bigger name they are going to announce! And all i mentioned about a vicii is does anybody think it could be, i never said it was or i thought it was FFS!! haha!

are Tame Impala likely to appear still? The Coachella set looked amazing

They've not got any European dates announced around Glastonbury so I'm leaning towards them not playing. Then again, they don't have any gigs at all for the majority of June and July so it could still happen I suppose.

Because you both like suggesting massive acts for the Other Stage :P

Eh? Think I've only ever talked about The Stone Roses and without rehashing those old discussions, ultimately that's just a debate about whether you think they are massive or not. Iconic yes but massive? And that was around the time it appeared we might be looking at a pop act like Madonna/Swift on the Pyramid slot and me wondering where they might fit in the SR if they were to play as an alternative to the pyramid pop act.

I was gutted to miss it tbf. But I'm still not convinced with them headlining again - Id rather see something ive not seen before. Although technically ive never seen 'Blur' as a whole but I'm kinda over them

I'm a mass of contradiction

    • This is great. Friday and Saturday main are 🔥   If they do end up touring next year I could see a trio of Blink, Deftones & Maiden working quite well.

    • True and given how rapidly it fell apart for Piastri in the final third of last season, we do have precedents for it going wrong.   Although Antonelli did a brilliant effort to eke out Monaco pole yesterday against Verstappen while Russell's down in 6th. I know Russell was unlucky in China and Japan but in the last few weeks, Antonelli is starting to look like he gets the demands of this new spec of car better.
    • I didn't watch all of the England friendly last night but I did see some of it. Still seems like they have a few gears to go through. But then I also felt that for the Uruguay and Japan friendlies a few months ago, so... hmmm...
