The problem is that you're using that logic as the basis of your whole argument. Those bands have considerable fan bases for sure, but they still divide opinion.

A considerable number of people who come on locals tickets are not the kind of people who are heavily into music and go to a lot of gigs anyway. They are given these tickets, in part, as a way of making up for causing chaos once a year. When they come along and plonk their camping chairs in front of the Pyramid for the day they don't want to see the latest up and coming act. They don't want to come and see an act that from genre they probably don't know much about. They want to see non-offensive acts that they either know or is someone who will put on a good show for them.

You don't even have to limit it to the headliners. Look at the Sunday lineups on the Pyramid over the last few years. They are full of acts that fit this bill and would raise eyebrows playing in the same slot on a Friday or Saturday.

And while I have no doubt that if (and hopefully when) AC/DC do play this year they will put on an amazing show that I am confident will be up there with the best things I have ever seen on that stage. However, I doubt they'll be doing so on the Sunday.

if the locals were people living in a city, maybe. The locals in Pilton and surrounding areas are a slightly different demographic I would imagine.

I think this is being a little patronizing, I'm not from a city and know a lot of Country Folk who love their music and all kinds of music, just because people are not from a city they shouldn't be pigeonholed as to their musical tastes.

Taylor Swift will divide opinion far more than the Foos. Probably equally to ACDC.

Foo Fighters are non-offensive and will put on the second best show out of those three. ACDC obviously top.

Yep, absolutely. Whoever the headliners are, you'll always get people who'll love it, very vocal people who don't, and the festival will still be amazing regardless.

Take AC/DC for example. They may possibly headline, but you won't catch me there - they're not my cup of tea at all. Plenty of people will feel the same, but a large enough crowd won't, and you probably won't be able to tell the difference on the television regardless. When all's said and done, we're all going to have an amazing five days and the musical talent and range will be second to none. It's not necessary to be fans of everyone who headlines.

Nope, not yet. He'd probably be my choice despite his penchant for playing too fast. Simon Wright is a possibility, Bob Richards,apparently, is not. Which is a shame as he looks like the Rudder!

This DVD is immense...if you've heard the new album too...it's as good as anything they've done for thirty years.

It's an awful token system and the queue can (and will, at AC/DC) get quite lengthy - but if you want pints...you got it.

I'd suggest sneaking something in - I've done it for most gigs I've seen there.
