this is true, but i'd like to think that Rowntree - an intelligent chap by all accounts, and a solicitor - could find a better way of denying than a lie.

or maybe he has and i'm not smart enough to see it.

Are you trying to suggest that a solicitor wouldn't have the audacity to lie?!

If it is them, how can he avoid answering it without making it obvious? If he just dodged the question it would be obvious that he wasn't allowed to answer it.

Thinking about it could it not be that someone they never thought they could get has been made available and that someone has been asked to drop down a slot? I know they refused to this for pink floyd but . . .? Could explain why the headliner's only been booked recently and why there are two big names

not at all, i'm suggesting that a solicitor would be able to evade a question with far more nuance and subtlety than saying "it's not us".

but, like i said, perhaps he did and i'm not noticing!

Idk, but maybe as someone who is relentlessly targeting my posts of late you're just feigning ignorance and do actually know the answer to that? Pray do tell ;)

I knew it wound you up when you got me back a few times so I kept doing it. Then I enjoyed a post you done so gave up on my witch hunt. I'm looking for a new victim.

Ah, I see! As a general rule it doesn't, just was a bit confused the other day when I found out that you and one other player who I don't remember even disagreeing with appeared to have something against me. No worries :)

personally, i'm taking it at face value - that blur are not headlining. but then i'm not exactly a blur fan so i'm not trying to find the wiggle room in his statement.

but telling a porkie isn't on really, imo. it's one thing to go along with the conciet, but who is he fooling? the glastonbury-bound blur fans to whom his gig promoters hope to sell tickets that they otherwise may not bother with? ie, many people on here and elsewhere.

that, as they say around these parts, is a c**t's trick.

No, cos everyone is ruled out then. :P

Don't forget peeps, whoever the headliner is, they're not being announced because of other shows they have. This piece of info I'm certain of.

Once again, you say "because of other shows they have", rather than "because of other shows they have which aren't sold out".. anything in this?

I only know they're not announced because they have other shows.

I don't know where those shows are, when those shows are, or how many tickets might have been sold for those other shows.

I only know that they have other shows.

So this particular nugget doesn't rule out Swift after all then, interesting. Edited by Zac Quinn

    • People seem to have got obsessed about 'secret sets' at all festivals this year even when there aren't any spaces other than, in EOTR's case, the usual late Folly sets that 90%+ of the time are from artists who are already playing.
    • To be fair @Superscally barely mentions the running thing. Very quiet about it 😘
    • I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either
    • Selfish, but I've done the 2 days I'm there.. i'll try to do the rest through the day but might get beaten to it as it's editable....    https://clashfinder.com/s/ape2026/
    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
