Libertines i reckon. would fit in to the 'they're probably British' (sic) comment that Michael made. don't think he could mistake Swift for being British

I think you need to let this quote from ME go. There's been a lot of water under the bridge since then...

It's come from someone who has a 100% success rate with me - tho not for a huge number of items. So he either makes very good guesses, or he has a real source of info.

I believe he's right, but I only get to find out for sure when things get announced.

Bugger !

has there? as far as i can tell he was directly talking about The Who with this comment, and possibly the sub act as well. it's the most recent quote we have from him regarding the current headliner and sub, who he was definitely talking about at the time (not any previously 'booked' headliners etc)

Yeah, you could be right. It's just that the "British but..." quote seems to have been retrofitted to so many bands recently. At the time he said it I wonder if they had any certainty about the Sunday.

was only a couple of weeks ago - they must've had SOMEBODY in mind for that Sunday slot by then. i can't see them still phoning up acts asking 'd'you wanna sub Glastonbury!?'. it may not be The Libertines, but with Noel now seemingly ruled out, i can't think of many other British acts (or acts all together) who are touring around the time but not busy that night / have full touring schedules

well, this is what we're all assuming - it seems to add up considering they can only do the Sunday and the Sunday's Other headliner is seemingly Chemical Brothers (subbed by Jamie T). they may fit in elsewhere, but third on Pyramid seems the best bet

Jamie T is free everyday of the festival, why as everyone presumed he'll be Sunday, is there any solid info on that?

Personally really hoping there is no overlap between his set and the Who as I want to see both of them.

His booking agency have Sunday listed on their website.

Kraftwerk is an interesting one. Maybe not under The Who. But I'm surprised they have not been involved at all over the last few years.

The only UK appearance that comes to mind is the Latitude headline slot. They have been in and around Europe non stop for the last few years. But nothing in the UK.

They headlined Bestival about five years ago. It was feckin brilliant!

    • I'm not sure about the entrance but it wouldn't be a surprise to find the festival have secured use of the land from Steanbow who own it for either new CV space, or for authorised off-site camping as they did with Worthy View.  An authorised off-site pitch-your-own with decent facilities priced just below WV would fly off the shelves as an option.
    • Burnham needs to hold onto his seat , plus needs labour to hold onto all those other seats that could go Reform, so I think some blue labour stuff might stay...and it will be back to the tactic of hoping enough left/liberal voters will get behind labour and not go Green in order to stop a Reform govt...obviously wasn't working with Starmer, but might with Burnham if he shows enough leg. Have to see, Burnham is going from a cushty job where he's very popular and seen as successful to probably the most difficult job going, prime minister of this country...and his popularity might not last long when people realise he can't fix all the problems over night. What he can do is give a sense of direction and optimism which is badly needed, but he will also be faced with a whole bunch of nasty trade offs and could be where Starmer is now in a matter of months.
    • Yep, The Cure and The xx are the two most painful misses for me this year. The Cure literally plays at every corner, except the one I attend to.
    • There’s going to be a Táncdalfesztivál thingy which is going to be some kind of retro party from the 60’s and 70’s with Hungarian acts. Not much info about it yet, but they mentioned it at the press conference when announced the 3 others.
