Maybe both should headline and we'll see

Would be an interesting experiment! To be honest, I'm not bothered which acts get bigger crowds than others. I'm happy enough getting to see performers play who I like. That being said, the crowd for Dolly last year was insane!

hmmm .... someone has just said something to me which suggests its not Prince, tho that could really be the result of keeping up deceptions.

But anyway, who else could it be that's be that's a massive act, a solo(ish) star, and an act they've been after for years? Give me names, people!

Okay, I'll bite.

Florence :P

Yeah, I'm never too fussed by that. I was right down the front with that huuuuuge Stones crowd, so I never find it too difficult to get where I want to be.

Of course they would. the people on here like to think they speak on behalf of the glastonbury crowd, but The Roses would defo pull a bigger crowd in the uk than prince

Bit of a wild assumption you are making there sir! Speaking of which, I could be wrong but aren't you doing exactly that with your second sentence!?

IMO - Foos, Kanye & Prince is a pretty disappointing set of headliners for the greatest festival on the planet.

However, for me, it's all about West Holts, Acoustic and Avalon, so not really bothered.

who are you expecting?

Pretty sure most festivals around the world would give a massive amount of money to secure those names.

Ohhh I love roller coasters! My other favourite is the Aerosmith one , love the thrust! Although I've yet to visit blooming alton towers, lol but anyway its the same thrill of watching this tread right now ha ha

Oh we all love a bit of thrust! Never been to Alton Towers either. Neils just thrown another possible spanner into the P***** rumour. Tis madness here!

Probably trying to diffuse the smell, in fear Prince may back out.

Don McLean? ... Just watched an article on the meaning of American Pie lyrics and got me thinking.

I know he isn't really big enough to headline, but him and Madge could do an extended 2 hour version of American Pie and give Glastonbury the biggest singalong of all time!!

If it's solo (ish), could it be a so and so & the somethings. Such as Tom Petty or Nick Cave. I know neither of them fulfill all criteria, but you never know.

Only my personal preference, but either of those would kick prince's arse (even though I like prince!). Only Bowie or Floyd would be better for me.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
