they had bloody Chase & Status up against the Stones - it's clearly not that big of an issue to them

Wouldn't surprise me if that was a Jagger "put us on the same time as someone shit. Just enough to completely fill the Pyramid Field" type demand.

Much like Roger Waters "we're not going on before the Spice Girls, nudge them off the bill" demand at Live 8.

If it were, it would suggest a major name on the Pyramid with Flo being a device to split the crowds/manage the volumes (or it might not, but that was my initial thought)

I said this yesterday but it's a myth you need two massive acts to balance out crowds.

2013 proved that.

2013 proved that.

Between Chase and Status and Public Enemy it was enough.

Like Dolly and Sam Smith?

People were going to Dolly regardless. Out of pure morbid curiosity. Imagine missing that sax solo?!

GFL office this morning - 'We anticipate they'll be nothing revealed in the next 24 hours'. Mate emailed them.

That's good enough for me. They're holding out until after midnight tonight, and I think it's because they want to measure the Kanye effect. After that, I don't see anything stopping them. If it's P****e, releasing a line-up with TBC might actually demonstrate to him that they're not using his name to sell the event like he stupidly thinks they did last year.

I'm saying 7pm tomorrow night.

So - if Prince bails, they do a switcheroo and punt Machinery onto Pyramid and promote some sort of Jake Bugg-a-like into the topsot on the Other Stage....(?)

Yeah that was what I was thinking too... Just out of interest as well (hypothetically of course) After the Prince issue last year, and then maybe he bails out this year... how would Prince fans feel about that? would that be it do we reckon, no more chances? or third times a charm?

I'm not even sure the Eavii know what to do yet, but we're still on here waiting for the line-up that'll surely not be out for a good few weeks.

that would be a pretty odd turn of events - she may not be as huge as she was when she left off, but that's a pretty sizeable step down. subbing somebody like Prince, though not headlining, isn't something you can complain about. headlining the second stage is admitting 'well my chances of ever headlining are gone'

if Flo headlined the other on Saturday, that would please many who don't want to see kanye, I reckon.

But as I said, I've no idea if it's true.

In all fairness it wouldn't have mattered one iota who they put up against The Stones. The crowd would have still been mega.

Exactly, and the pyramid field can hold 100,000+ punters. Glasto rarely pulls dangerous crowds either, it may be a bit tight but it's rare you're gonna be subject to pushing and shoving.

There was a bit during Arctic monkeys in 2013 but that was because I was surrounded by genuine dickheads.

someone has told me today that Flo is headlining the other stage.

I've no idea if it's true, tho.

Feels very deja vu to last year this.

Metallica on the other stage, big headliner falls through, band bumped to pyramid headliner.

Probably alt-J or Ben Howard or something. Although I doubt Flo is actually booked for the Other Stage.

If the guy who's claiming to know is right the other headliners this year are Rudimental, The Chemical Brothers and Alt -J

If he is right of course

I'm pretty sure the guy only claimed that he'd found out that Rudimental were headlining Friday night. Anything else is separate.

Not that I'm giving any thought to Florence playing the Other Stage.

Was thinking this too.

That 'nothing expected in the next 24 hours' e-mail above is so annoying, why couldn't they have said 72 hours or even 48, meant I could have got some work done over the next couple of days

    • Thom Yorke will be releasing new music this year. Would be amazing to have him (his 2019 Tomorrow's Boxes tour was stellar). Ed O Brien can also play a small set. Could be lovely.   Can see Fontaines DC headlining next year (if Mad Cool doesn't get them). Is Raye edgy enough for this? She's amazing live but maybe not a 'Primavera name'?   Hoping for a return of Run The Jewels (rumored to be working on something new?) Fred Again is a good shout as wel.
    • Other than the very challenging hours of the storm (and PS's terrible mismanagement), I thought weekend was fantastic. Main highlights on Thursday - Blood Orange and Ahadadream>>Bambi>>BenUFO run at Plentitude right after the storm which were all a blast, Friday -  Avalanches DJ set (only played for an hour but could've continued for another two as far as we were concerned), The Cure (amazing show and his expression right at the end of the show which was caught on screen was very special) and on Saturday - Baxter Dury (seen him twice before but he has become a real performer, band was tight too). We accidentelly bumped into him in the VIP area later and he was so humble and modest and generous to us that I completely fell for him) and Smerz (especially the last 3 songs). Also loved BCNR at Parallel62 on Sunday. Crushed to have missed Overmono. Can't wait for next year.
    • well, the attack was in a republican area...
    • huge interpol fan here and saw them a lot but cannot recall they did Primavera Barca the last 3 years?
    • I love Interpol but also a bit bored of them being on the lineup every other year.    Radio Dept were announced for Pitchfork London in November...
