Macca, to do the same set again?! Would be bizarre.

But not as bizarre as Bowie.

Manager: "David, do you fancy playing live again? Considering you're a 68 year old man with a heart condition who hasn't played live in 12 years, maybe play one gig just to see how you feel after? See if you last the entire gig like"

Bowie: "Yeah, lets do a two hour Glastonbury gig live on the Beeb so".

Its fucking nonsense.

Macca could do 4/5 Different setlist and it wld still be full of hits!

Paul McCartney is definitely worth a shout I think. Certainly more likely than Prince and Bowie I'd say.

Could explain the delay in announcing Macca as he's an exclusive elsewhere. Was why Metallica were announced late last time around May.

Don't want to wait till May time for the first big batch of names though would defo take some of the line-up next few days then headliner TBA later!

But the certainty of Florence appearing amid the uncertainty of her position on the bill inevitably means we're gonna have to wait till third headliner is fully booked before we get any announcement.

Still think Macca's in with a shout too.

Are tags such as 'European exclusive' always definite? Pretty sure Metallica were supposedly exclusives last year to Sonisphere before Glasto booked them.

Europe might not even include the UK (for festival bookings)?

I always think of Europe as the mainland... May just be me

In other news, the skin of the pyramid has started going on apparently.

Really?! Wow. Last year was early, but that would surprise me if true. What's the point, so early?

Let me just check the 'live' BBC cams.

Nope, definitely not the case ;)

Metallicas exclusive part for Sonisphere was the "by request" part of their European festival tour.

Alas, I think there's more chance of us all winning the lottery on the exact same day than REM getting back together :(

Aye, anyone expecting them to play would be mental. It was more of an answer to the question "has a legend headlined twice", and REM did it in 1999 and 2003.

If it's someone they've been after for a long time (as Neil said), then that'd surely make Prince more likely than Bowie? After him playing in 2000, how long are they likely to have been trying to get him back (especially considering he has been retired from playing live for most of that time)?

I'm gonna assume that the info relates to Prince, and that we'll end up with Flo.

aye all this Bowie and Macca talk is nonsense. i'll go ahead and say it's Prince, and if he falls through (which there's a high chance of) then Flo will take his place. fingers crossed the little shit is in a good mood regarding Glastonbury these days - the lineup being announced and Flo being up top would be heartbreaking on so many levels, especially knowing what could have been

That'd be a VERY odd placing given that Emily has come out and said she's big enough to headline. I don't buy it.

She'd be a compelling act against Kanye, though. They need somebody of headliner status to go up against him, in some ways.

someone has told me today that Flo is headlining the other stage.

I've no idea if it's true, tho.

that would be a pretty odd turn of events - she may not be as huge as she was when she left off, but that's a pretty sizeable step down. subbing somebody like Prince, though not headlining, isn't something you can complain about. headlining the second stage is admitting 'well my chances of ever headlining are gone'

If it were, it would suggest a major name on the Pyramid with Flo being a device to split the crowds/manage the volumes (or it might not, but that was my initial thought)

they had bloody Chase & Status up against the Stones - it's clearly not that big of an issue to them

GFL office this morning - 'We anticipate they'll be nothing revealed in the next 24 hours'. Mate emailed them.

This is interesting, what did your mate ask them in the email?

If he/she asked "Will we hear anything before the payment window closes?" then their answer is saying no to that but not promisig anything afterwards either, but if he/she asked "When will the lineup be released" then this could basically mean it'll be tomorrow....

Am I overthinking this?

    • was happy to swerve the main stages on Saturday, but thought it was fine for The Cure, we just went down the opposite side & got a decent spot close to the front, everyone into it (admittedly a bit off to the side)   a festival that now books Olivia Rodrigo as a surprise set isn't going to get any smaller, for better or for worse it is miles apart from when I was first going   personally I still find the people amazing, never have any hassle & the line ups are always so strong & diverse.  We will definitely return for the 25th anniversary next year!
    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
