Grumble on my behalf there. 3/1 would be ideal for a quick £100, but if we're leaning towards Coldplay, i shan't bother!

absolutely no evidence behind that by the way! it's just what i'd assumed, and could well be wrong - Coldplay have headlined the Saturday the last two times so they might want to mix it up (or, stick to a pattern - who knows)

I wonder if they stipulate they have to do Saturday or something or if it's just by chance with touring schedules. I'm hoping they insist on Saturdays as it'll pay the balance off my ticket if they do.

Jazz fans? Opera fans? If you grow up listening to the Ring Cycle you're probably less likely to get your jollies from fairly mainstream pop / rock.

Fair cop. Was referring to pop music. I know next to nothing about opera.

I know it's mere coincidence, but I always feel the 'BIG' headliner always plays the Saturday, U2 aside, who had to play Friday due to touring clashes. Well, since 2009 anyway...

2009: Blur, Springsteen, Neil Young

2010: Gorillaz, Muse, Stevie Wonder

2011: U2, Coldplay, Beyonce

2013: Arctics, Rolling Stones, Mumford

2014: Arcade Fire, Metallica, Kasabian

2015: Florence, Foos, Coldplay?

Surely, they can't be super repetitive and have Coldplay on the Saturday again? I think i'm just trying to make up excuses to put the bet on.

When I was younger I used to think the Beatles were shit. Mainly because had never heard a massive chunk of what they did. There are a lot of Beatles songs I still can't stand, but loads I love.

Put 30 singles out a year and you're bound to get a few right

Paddy Power have suspended betting on Coldplay for the Saturday, they're probably reading this thread.

nah, they suspended the Coldplay betting last night within 30 minutes of efests publishing the story about Coldplay, very obviously after a flood of bets.

Today they've sent out a publicity mailer, trying to push other bands - to try and get bets to cover-off the potential losses on Coldplay.

Florence + The Machine, Foo Fighters and AC/DC are among the new favourites to headline Glastonbury in June.

that's pretty much a cut and paste of the paddy power press release sent out this morning - which is designed to get bets on other bands to cover off all the money which went on Coldplay last night.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
