  1. Willie Nelson's a bit of an outlier there, strange that he's never reappeared since the legends slot became a thing.

    2024 Headliners

I would take that for my 3 headliners any day!!!

    Guns n Roses

Lead singer from the Lathums seemed to do the same thing
  4. On the sunday of 2000 I parked my car in some farmers field and walked across to the festival site, to get there we had to cross one of the travellers fields. I was pretty young a green at the time and found it pretty intimidating and the prospect of walking back through there at night wasn't filling me with joy. The end result was that we left before the headliner who was ... David Bowie! I missed out on seeing David Bowie because I was scared of some new age travellers!!!
  5. You're telling me that a commercial & cultural behemoth on the scale of Glastonbury Festivals Ltd can have no influence on some tin-pot helicopter operator? The fact remains that travelling by helicopter is not even close to being a sustainable form of transport, admittedly car transport isn't ideal, but it is the only option for the masses, and if Glastonbury is keen to promote sustainability then that needs to apply to everybody who attends, not just us proles.
  6. Hardly the point, it's just not sustainable and the festival could influence it if they wanted to but they don't seem interested.
  7. Couldn't agree more with this, unbelievable that a festival that preaches sustainability and environmental responsibility would allow a service like this to use their facilities (I assume its the on-site helipad that was used). Not to mention the public display of elitism and total lack of inclusivity that this type of service promotes. That being said, I'll definitely be trying for a ticket next year!!!
  8. For me the biggest issue was camping space, arrived around 2 on Thursday and spent well over an hour looking for a space, we dont have a massive tent either. Other than that it was busy for Skindred as I think there was a pinch point between Nowhere and Truth stages. Elton was rammed obviously, but we were near the edge of the field so it wasn't really a problem.

    Glastocam!

Looks like its going to be 'We Stand With' Thinking Ukraine?
  10. Smallest for me had to be Slaves opening Other on Sunday in 2017, definitely less than 200 people, but they still smashed it.
  11. Not even just on this thread, how many times have you mentioned to someone that you're going to GLastonbury and they feel the need to tell you that it's suppose to rain that weekend?
  12. OK, thanks for the explanation, it certainly makes a lot more sense now. Just to clarify one thing regarding the rainfall prediction, its an estimate of the amount of rain that will fall, not the possibility that the amount of rainfall will exceed the average?
  13. What does this really mean though? Looking at the scale on the rain chart, it seems to mean that there is a 0-10% chance that rainfall during festival week will be above average, but what's average? If average means a brief shower, then could above average mean 2 brief showers? Also is it only up to a 10% chance that this is correct? If thats the case then those are pretty good odds. Any chance someone could explain this to me please?
  14. I was expecting to see Father John Misty on the lineup somewhere, when he didnt appear on the Park lineup and following his 'songs of Scott Walker' project with the BBC symphony orchestra, I thought he might even get a Pyramid slot. I was expecting Death Grips on the Truth stage too.
  15. Massively bothered by it, Sparks were a must see for me, but up against Pulp I'd be torn
  16. That must have been a pretty good couple of days!
  17. Do you remember when you used to be able to buy those special 'highly flavorful' mushrooms in any old head-shop? Great Days!
  18. I'm gutted about this, they were one of the (numerous) bands that I was hoping to see who haven;t appeared on the lineup. I wanted to see them at Boomtown last year but missed them and they said they don't have any gigs booked near me (west Yorkshire). I might have to make the trip over to Manc to see them!
  19. The Allergies just responded to my tweet, they're out unfortunately Posted in the wrong topic
  20. I was certain they'd be on the Truth stage, was gutted when they didn't turn up, only other option would be on Other but I can't see it somehow
  21. You mustn't let it come to that, worst case I'll pay for a trip to Switzerland!
  22. Thats even worse, particularly as he's headlined it before
  23. It also couldn't be less exciting as a headliner, if you've been to glasto before you've had plenty of chances to see him, if you haven't been before he'd be playing in some other venue anyway so you'd still get the chance to see him. I'm ambivalent about the lineup in general this year anyway, but something about this booking is so frustrating! I will caveat this by saying if he does something really special and out of the ordinary, like playing with a live band or something then I will be fully prepared to eat my words.
  24. Agree with this, I get that he wants to play every stage, but headlining? I can't believe there weren't better options.
