would be very much for it. Believe he always feels his set in 2009 was a bit of a disappointment. At 74, would he really be able to get to/from Belgium and play two days in a row? Sadly, based in the most recent tour, I really cannot see it.

Other Stage Headliner seems just about perfect for her.

Scored some major Glastonbury kudos this afternoon (I hope!). In and out in 10 mins for Friday TS. Concert in Liverpool for my partner & my sister. £125 tickets, I was happy, they were less so at the price!
  4. Thanks for info @incident @henry bear & @northernangel always good to know what they’re working with. I know the pull of Glastonbury isn’t always for everyone, but I always think when you see people like Stones, McCartney, Elton John, Diana Ross, you’d always want a piece of it. Definitely boss on my behalf.
  5. Curious, why would Madonna say “No”? I genuinely don’t know, just curious. I feel it it would be a perfect time for Madonna, as I don’t think her stock is very high at the moment, is it? Bring a big show, and with the National and Global reaction (if positive) would be massive for her.

I think that's what I mean. I don't think they get the love they deserve in the UK. I'm not a massive fan, but they're very, very good, and I appreciate their music. I just don't think they're hugely popular in the UK, does Glastonbury have that lure for them? That would be the big stumbling block for me. As you've said, they also don't mould their set to festival crowds, so would it just flop?

We're always guilty though, aren't we? You won't always get the massive acts like Elton John and Macca. It's never been my main goal the headliners, I think I've seen on average 1 headliner per festival. There is so much going on you don't need to. As you say, if we have a bit of a downpeak in terms of "quality" (I use that subjectively - as still big names). Then it may make ticket day a little easier.

Funny Band Depeche Mode. Feel they're absolutely massive everywhere outside the UK, but not massive in the UK. I'm fully aware they've just played to a sold out show at Twickenham, but they're doing multiple dates across some countries in Europe. Would not be against them headlining, just always surprises me when a British bands don't get local hype but do get continental/world wide hype.

The Betting Odds always remind me of when Neil dropped the Kasabian Headline news whilst a certain reputable bookmaker still had them at like 16/1. I think a fair few off this forum obtained some additional spending money that year. Long story short, the bookmakers don't really know about Glastonbury, and have been long time lurkers (or certainly in the past) to try and get their odds.

Quite happy with this news. Selfishly means that it won’t have thousands of Swift fans booking on, knowing she won’t be at Glastonbury 2024. Sorry if bad news for some!

sadly, that’s exactly what’s happening. The only way we can rule out TS, is if she adds a date to block her off. Then the rest is just guesswork, but it will be repetitive, but I guess that all adds to the excitement.

Maybe it’s just me, but I find that Dua Lipa is in that period Biffy Clyro were in about 9-10years ago. Took a bad album for them drop to the sub slot. Too big to be sub for the other, too big for the other, but not quite big enough to headline. A great talent, who I enjoy listening to, but feels maybe too much too soon? Where BC failed I think she will ultimately headline Glastonbury, but just feels a bit too early.
  13. I wasn't there, but had to turn Radio X off whilst driving over the weekend. It was smarmy beyond belief, i reckon in 30 minutes, they mentioned the flags at least 3-4 times. Wouldn't surprise me if Radio X got a set of tickets, and gave them to crew with the caveat that the carry a flag round all weekend. Saw lots and lots of advertising flags all over on the TV. If there's ever a reason to ban flags, that would be it!

    Lana Del Rey Curfew

Very condescending towards “nerds”. Dont you think?
  15. This. It's exciting seeing the flags and adds to the aura of the occasion. What doesn't is Radio X all standing in a line and spoiling everyone's view, and for what? Absolute nonsense.

Why are you so angry though? You've just came along, accused masses of being sexist, misogynist and are just being downright rude to everyone. It's a community this site. You've clearly got a passion for festivals, because you've signed up for eFestivals, so to be so damning of Glastonbury, and dismissive of one artists lateness issues is just bizarre. The site has to be ran rigid, it's got 250,000 people in there. If the curfew is midnight it's midnight. If i went through the council website, I'm certain the curfews and rules and legislations would be listed. She was late, she let everyone down. It's great that you're passionate, but you can't do anything to prevent her letting everyone down. Calm down, appreciate the great weekend you've just had, one which thousands are gutted to have missed.

You're going to have to explain the sexism there. Last time I checked "deranged" wasn't exclusively tied to one gender.

Wow. What an eventful few pages. Leave the name calling and false accusations for others. Not sure who this @Colorblindjamesis, but you need to calm down, and take a step back. The facts are simple. They Pyramid has a later slot to stop any overcrowding from all crowds leaving at same time. All about safety. Additionally, the site has a curfew, they've scratched the surface of losing their license a fair few times, would 30 minutes make a difference? Probably not, but setting a precedent for other artists? That's where you'll encounter issues. LDR was late, despite warning and proceeded to ignore the calls. It's on her. You've paid money to see artists, bands and whatever else, and she didn't show up, she left you disappointed, not the festival. Hopefully not the end of her at Glastonbury as she seems to have absolutely hit the mark with lots of people, but show some respect to the organisers, fans and whoever else is involved.

Agree with the majority. I think Foos would be a very dull booking just due to the Pyramid slot this year. What it does do, is set Dave Grohl Up for breaking a Glastonbury record for most “surprise” sets in a row. 🤣

I think in respect to Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac would it even be the same without their deceased members? Maybe with Fleetwood Mac. Led Zep is along gone dream I think, even with Plants love of Glastonbury. Yeah, I think Eminem, Drake would be a huge grab. Billy Joel would be for me on the same tier as The Who, ultimately a legend, but not quite at the elite level. personally with no Taylor Swift, it wouldn’t surprise me to see a step back with the headliners this year and let someone up and coming take their chance.

If there are any non-headlining acts who watched Elton John last night, they may quickly reconsider after watching that. Who’s left in the “maybe” pile of big non headliners? Madonna?
  22. Haven’t seen it for a couple of festivals now, but used to be a person with 3 Mexico flags in a line, but not fully drawn to the top, and they always had the prime spot to watch. end result you saw nothing. A real nuisance. But the flags, I take one, and it’s purely to find the tent after 10 hours drinking to be honest!

    Arctic Monkeys

Two sides to every coin I guess. Personally, I thought it was poor. Maybe the Glastonbury snobbery is rife in me, but they didn't do anything to make it special. Even Guns N Roses brought out Grohl. It's their 3rd time headlining, and I just thought they'd wow everyone. It felt a bit flat. I looked at Elton John and that's how it should be done. He rose to the occasion and made it one of the best sets of all time. Maybe because they're not half way through their journey yet, they're still trying to do their stuff, and not cater to the masses (and why not?), but you've got a huge platform, give it everything. It just felt like a massive missed opportunity.
  24. North Western show please.
  25. From what I can tell that's for Springsteen on the Pre-sale for AMEX, which starts tomorrow. I paid €135 for my golden circle in Amsterdam, you'd have to assume, this is largely dictated by BST, and not Springsteen.
