I thought as much. It's interesting though.

Not really. Its says absolutely nothing about the realistic possibilities, it only says "we're scared we might lose a load of money".

It doesn't mean they believe it's Coldplay, it only means that if it is Coldplay they stand to lose money on their Glastonbury betting market.

Their only belief is in the money they might make, and nothing about who might be playing.

I mean interesting in the way in which Paddy Power have no idea and how NME will publish it regardless

I think The Prodigy to headline (most likely the other stage) is a good shout.

Headlining Benicassim and there's been matches in the lineups past few years..

'14 Kasabian headlined both

'13 Arctics headlined both

'11 Streets headlined beni and the other stage I believe

I think that Emily ruled them out of the Saturday, and if she did I doubt she's telling porkies.

Nah I don't think she did. We were discussing that not long ago, and the article made it seem like she'd said that, because it said something about Foos and Fleetwood being rumoured for the Saturday, and had a separate quote from Emily saying all the rumours are wrong (not in response to the Saturday thing, just in general).

If Coldplay were on the Saturday then The Prodigy would be a good alternative to them, but whether they would do that after being in Denmark the night before is another matter.

I see the most likely trios as Foos/Coldplay/Flo or Foos/Coldplay/Swift now.

If it's the former I'd say:

Fri - Flo

Sat - Foos

Sun - Coldplay

If it's the latter I'd say:

Fri - Foos

Sat - Coldplay

Sun - Swift

Not sure if that's silly, it's just the way I'm picturing it ending up.

I'm really not sure I like either.

It's looking like it will probably be a year away from the Pyramid for me. In 2011 I don't think I watched anyone there really. Primal Scream, Chemical Brothers and The Streets.

Gonna betray the entire teamswift fandom

But this coldplay news kinda made me doubt the swift rumours a bit :/ simply because foo fighters, coldplay and taylor swift as a trio is massive... Bigger than 2011 imo, two proven stadium sellers and a hugely mainstream act.

The Prodigy also have headlined Sonisphere and Download, Download of which is the second largest festival in the UK.

Is a combination of U2, Coldplay and Beyoncé not also two stadium sellers and a hugely mainstream act? Agree about doubting Taylor, but that's just because I'm a pessimist :P Edited by Zac Quinn

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
