Underwhelmed with a lot of it (not that I am complaining, I am every year for a couple of days) but I am intrigued at who might be the Saturday night headliner, hope they go for a real left field choice. Still though we have AF, Blondie, Pixies, Jack White, Plant, Manics, Dolly and I am sure there will be more!

the more i look at the lineup the more i'm loving it :D i've got butterflies in my stomach i'm so excited. festival can't come soon enough

i was very on the verge of possibly not going due to not having anybody concrete to go with, but now, fuck it, i'm going regardless

Just realised The Horrors aren't on there (I don't think). Listening to the new album for the first time on the train at the moment, and loving it so far. Hopefully they're added at some point; they're TBC on here so I guess they will be (have they self-confirmed?).

Anyway, loving the lineup on the whole. Jack White's the one person in the world I've been desperate to see since I started going to gigs but haven't yet managed to see. Arcade Fire, Metallica (or maybe Pixies) and Massive Attack will be a bloody lovely set of headliners for me. Hope to god I get tickets now!

i'm not sure anyone over 30 / or who has been to glastonbury before will be genuinely ecstatic about that lineup...any serious music fan would surely have seen 90-95% of those acts?

the lineup was crying out for a fleetwood mac, kanye, madonna, something...instead we get kasabian? a very good band, but haven't written a good tune in several years, im sure they will put on a good show right enough...but headlining glastonbury?, there time went for that years ago.

as for metallica as the rumoured headliner....personally i love metallica, i first saw them at donnington in '95, seen tham 3 times since( newcastle, barrowlands, secc) fnastic albums (well the early ones were) and they put on a terrific show / incredible live band (although not as good as when newsted was with them (imho)...but not for glastonbury..if going for rock /metal band...glatonbury shouldve went for ac/dc...much more general appeal than metallcia who will undoubtedly be too 'heavy' for a lot of people.

but then again they have booked skrillex...perhaps thw worst 'act' / dj in living memory.

good to see richie hawtin playing though...perhaps he can do his new plastikman show as well

Cracking.

My main wish now is that somehow Arcade Fire and Jurassic 5 don't clash, as I'm dying to see both again.

I've seen all 3 pyramid headliners before, but all 3 are excellent live, and there's tonnes on the undercard I've not seen but want too :)

...glatonbury shouldve went for ac/dc...

funnily enough, I believe that they did but got a no, so they moved on to Metallica.

(that might not be true, for some parts I only have snippets to go on... but that appears to be what happened from things that have come my way).

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
