  1. Got confirmation email yesterday, quite excited about this as not worked Glastonbury for nearly 20 years. I think once you have done volunteering at festivals and then go to a paid role, you appreciate what other people are experiencing and I would never expect anyone to do anything I wasn't prepared to do myself. Apparently there are 30+ gates that get covered, won't find out where I am located till nearer the time, but hopefully one of the busier public gates as it would be more interesting. 9 shifts, fed 3 meals a day and we get staff camping near the farm I believe, not sure what field but there are bunkabins and we will have our caravan with us (my OH and myself). Will definitely try to get to the Monday night meet up 😁 Oh and I never Gossip 🤔😉

  2. I was at front for the jack white gig on the park stage in 2022. This dude rocks up half an hour before and starts chatting to the nice couple next to me about how he's here on a volunteering ticket but only bothered with one shift before deciding to jack it in. He then fills two empty pint cups with urine and places them on the other side do the barrier for someone else to deal with.. stays for 15 mins of the set and then leaves. My only regret in 41 years on this planet is that I stopped myself from pouring his own p*ss over him.

  5. The thing is I think a lot of us are spoilt by going every/most years. The spider is hugely impressive to anyone new. I bought my brother and his girlfriend to their first Glastonbury last year and they were blown away.

  6. Absolutely ridiculous idea to end it there, huge % of attendees aren’t interested in music , just what they look like on Instagram and how many likes they can get - complete sell out by Damon & Co IMO Surely one of the greatest British Bands should end it at the Greatest British Festival

  8. Nah, they are referring to the usual “Hungarian acts” announcement which is usally the last round of announcements. Some Revolut stage names and some smaller stages. But it kinda enraged me that they are teasing the freaking Hungarian announcement when theys till have missing main stage names haha

  9. Last year the covers arrived a day later than this year but still didn't go up until 11th May.

  10. It would be buffling to me if they didn't announce a Foo Fighters / Bille Eilish / Ed Sheeran / Justing Bieber level headliner for the last spot, on the other hand it would also be buffling for them to leave such big name for so late, where most people have bought their festival tickets I assume.

  11. Looks like the pyramid stage canvas is being dropped off. Also it appears that some fields are getting a cut.

  12. The Cat Empire is an amazing add, such a great live band. Can thoroughly recommend. Couple of other good acts as well, plenty I don't know so will check out.

  13. Best lineup of all the stages announced so far imo. If I had a ticket I'd be spending half of my time at Avalon. Shame the BBC don't televise it.

  15. I love going to festivals big and small I try to get to one new one ever year! The list of ones I want to check out is endless. Cochella does not make the list sounds absolutely shite

  16. My daughter is so excited Baby Queen is playing - I think she’ll gat a surprisingly large crowd. I’ve seen her live a few times, and she’s very good.

  17. I did think this. I know different people show shock/excitement in different ways blah blah blah, but when I was on the Radio last year the last thing on my mind was to film myself, it's a good thing I didn't because I screamed and cried like I had won the lottery, just the audio of me screaming is enough 🤣

  20. Seen the Blur, girls and boys clip. What a car crash. Albarn telling the crowd "you're never f**king seeing us again so you may as well sing along now". A field full of vacuous wasters watching a concert through their phone screens. Its all about flexing that you were there rather than actually enjoying being there. I know every generation has disdain towards the youths coming up from behind, but f**k me this lot are a narcissistic bunch of twats, particularly in the USA.

  24. leaks said "a band" when we were talking about the missing headliner... I'm thinking Maroon 5, or a similar band which haven't announced a Euro trip so far.

  25. Very happy to see BabyQueen, she’s one of my favourite artists atm. Though I agree it seems a weird stage for her to play.. I would’ve put her on woodsies.. Lots of others like Go Team, Toyah and Kate Nash that I might see depending on clashes.

  26. to be absolutely fair if they managed to lock in Jungle, Charli & Kaytranada (all mentioned by Leaks a few pages back) AND a headlining band, that's a pretty strong announcement.

  27. Yes, I was there in 2023 for Skindred—>Ho99o9 as well as Empire State bastard and was happy with all (though Skindred won me over even though I was waiting for Ho99o9). Someone who gets inside information on here speculated earlier that Shangri La getting a shakeup could mean they were removing Truth Stage in the name of crowd control reasons, is why my concern.

  38. If it's just you three, and you've no strong opinions on where to camp, you can set off at a normal time Wednesday and aim to get there for lunchtime - this is normally the time I arrive and there's never a queue, you just stroll through. Though I normally have friends who have arrived a couple of hours earlier and have vaguely saved me a tent space, however there's campsites with enough space for 3 tents in various parts. I have a tiny car and we've fit three of us in the past but it's been painfully difficult to squeeze all stuff in. Can be done if the three includes the driver, but it won't be comfortable for passengers with stuff piled on their knees 😄

  42. As an aside, Fergusons trophy haul at Aberdeen was incredible stuff. It’s unlikely a club outside the old firm will ever win a league title up here again. He won 3 leagues, 4 Scottish cups and 2 European trophies.

  43. No, Blur have at least 6-7 hits outside the UK that I can think of. I think it's more likely instead that Coachella had a dull crowd.

  46. I do too (via Loquax). The most expensive prize I won was a high end hand made garden table which sat 10 people and was about £3.5K to buy retail. I received the table when me and my wife were right skint. I sold it within the week on ebay for £650. It less than I had hoped (I was asking £850 for it) to get, but it sure did come in handy at the time. I also entered a PG tips competition while drunk one evening. They had asked what the taste of PG Tips invoked for you. I had thought of putting in a proper entry and saying something like it tasted of nectar. However, a bit of naughtiness crept into me and what I actually wrote down was the word 'vomit'. The main prize was for a car, and the 2nd prize was a years supply of PG Tips. They gave me 2nd prize for my entry - which meant that they wanted me to vomit every day for a year. i guess they had the last laugh on that one. Mind you, I did give the years supply of vouchers to one of my brothers and a mate who were sharing a house and were also very skint at that time. Not only that, but the both of them were heavy tea drinkers - so it all panned out well in the end.

  48. Gonna get a bit mushy now and I don't know if she plays it but this song means A LOT to me. I was meant to be seeing Avril live (and interview her!) but my mum died that day. My mum wasn't really into music but she loved Avril... must have been a Canadian thing as my mum was Canadian. This song got me through some very, very sad days and hearing it live would definitely be a super healing experience. Anyway, as you were. 🥲

  49. I went to my first glasto in 2008 with my best mate who lives miles away and a group of his friends I barely knew back then. Last minute decision as it had not sold out, I got my ticket 2 days before the festival. I'd recently come out and was struggling with it, he'd known for a while, but I hadn't the nerve to tell the big group of "lads" we were camping with on my first night at a festival. I went off for a wander and when I got back to camp, ended up going to bed knackered. I woke up in my tent in the middle of the night when everyone came back and they were all up chatting outside. The news had got out and I overheard lots of comments like "I wouldn't like if if my best mate came out to me" etc. I then listened to my friend stand up for me in the most brilliant fashion, completely unaware I could hear. I spent the next day on my own wandering around the site, I just didn't know how to react to what I'd heard from others in the group, and my first full day at Glasto was spent speaking to strangers, finding new places, and chilling in hammocks. It helped me gather my thoughts and is one of my favourite days in all 11 Glastos I've been to. Just me, my thoughts, a big festival, and no plan. In the evening I met back up with everyone, and decided to just have the discussion before the music started on the Friday. It cleared the air, we all ended up having a great festival, I've been back with that same group every year now and for the last 5 with my boyfriend in tow. I was best man to that best friend when he got married 8 years later and am the godfather to his two boys. He's long since stopped going, but I have promised to take the boys one day. There is magic and healing in that place.
