Losing Williams Green is a real blow isn't it, doesn't feel like there's a home for small bands to play now.6 points

I asked Nadine at a recent gig whether she was at Glastonbury. Said they where still sorting out what stage but she expected to play.2 points

I can't believe this is even a discussion. In 2023, prior to Sziget, Mackelmore toured the UK playing at Academy venues with a capacity of around 1,500. The Killers play stadiums with capacities of between 40,000 and 70,000. Yes, Mackelmore is fun. I enjoy his set, but he does not sell vast quantities of tickets or add prestige to a line-up - and a headliner is meant to do both.2 points

Saturday still looking the strongest day for my tastes. Think we made the right choice on our token day tickets...2 points

Avalon Inn has already confirmed they will be back. I read from Dee's post that she just meant the Avalon Cafe.2 points

For a festival of this size you'd probably want a survey sample of around 500 people to ensure a high level of accuracy. I suspect the margin of error is kept to within 5%1 point

£70+fees iirc. Think it was nearer £80-£85 once they were included as was thinking the fee % was taking the pee a bit 🙂1 point

I had similar problems when I was trying to enter on my phone, so I just enter through my desktop. I did get the age verification the first time on my desktop but it hasn't asked my since so I assume its put a cookie on my PC to avoid it happening each time.1 point

Should turn it into an ornithopter and have a show with all mad Harkonnen dropping out of it.1 point

Yes. Add "imagine 2024" for Macklemore as well, and it's 5 v 3. He performed at Sziget twice as much as Dua Lipa so far. And every time Dua Lipa comes to Sziget she's more popular than she previously was. For Macklemore it's the other way around.1 point

Probably posting this in the wrong thread. but a friend just saw vampire weekend post a pic of the other stage. And then 2 mins later it was deleted and they announced radio 1 big weekend. anyone actually catch the post?1 point

This is mad They are britpop Oasis, Blur and Pulp are still popular - sure not as much as say Dua Lipa or a newer older act like Coldplay but still popular. Just look at the success of Truck / Y Not / Kendal etc1 point

People saying Pulp have no new music, but I don't think that's important for a "heritage" headliner. Nobody went to last year's Saturday headliner* hoping to hear some new tunes. I'm not saying Pulp should headline, but I think they could with the right balance of other headliners (ie don't put them, Blur and Radiohead on the same year). * I'm not naming them here because I don't want to summon a particular person to rant about them all over this thread.1 point

Inspiral Carpets at Amp Stockport. Smallest venue I have seen them in and loudest, sweatiest gig I’ve been to in some time. Very good fun. Clint Boon was clearly enjoying the smaller venue chatting to friends and fans who have been watching them for years.1 point

Live, looks like it's him on the pads with a drummer? Solo DJ Also just remembered that he did a killer b2b with Salute which I'm now hoping could be repeated somewhere on the farm. Thursday Levels would be 💫1 point

Be quite something if they headlined again through the exact way that they got the bump up to do it in 1995.1 point

As I told you last week they were waiting for a medium/big artist for Sunday and now they have the green light to announce it. Friday and Saturday names are most of them small, do not expect too much. Selling out Sunday daytickets has been the logical plan in PKP Headquarters in the last weeks. See you tomorrow 11am1 point

The problem judging this is how high they've been billed, fourth among non-headliners but with no talk of a new album yet I can't see any way they'd be regarded as big enough to be Mountain subs. Ezra Collective are guaranteed to be Sampha's sub (self-confirmed for both Sunday and Mountain), presumably Arlo will be a Mountain sub too, while J&MC and EITS feel like natural FO headliners and Osees are confirmed for Saturday but surely can't be playing before Big Thief. That only really leaves a FO sub to one of those first two or maybe the Bicep/ConMan slot, but that doesn't feel right either. WG on Thursday has been all Welsh for the last couple of years and my thought is Das Koolies will either headline that or do the post-midnight slot on one of the other days.1 point

This is one of the most lucid messages I've read in a while. A breeze of fresh air between endless Slowdive and The National comments tbh. Congratulations and thank you.1 point

Sister Bliss is usually billed as Faithless (DJ Set). This time its just Faithless and they said on social media "First live band to headline", so it sounds like its going to be something different this time.1 point

1) previously always been just outside Gate C. Good location although some people don't like the late-night noise coming from the SE Corner. 2) it's discouraged. Staff are supposed to arrive on coaches which these days only go from Bristol, so you have to make your way to Bristol then get a coach to the site. Last two years there's been a limited number of car park passes available, but not guaranteed you'll get one especially if you won't car share with other volunteers. 3) 11am-7pm, 5pm-1am, 7pm-3am. Couple of exceptions where there are some earlier afternoon slots, and Stonebridge which has shifts til 5am. Some people are lucky and get a Wed or Thurs shift, but you should expect a Fri, sat and sun then count yourself lucky if you get one of the earlier days. 4) I've only done it last two years so can't comment much. Mostly very easy if you're used to spending 8 hours on your feet, very nice to be able to have a daily shower, meals have been provided previously in the staff tent although I haven't always bothered with them (I don't like wasting time at camp, rather be inside the fence).1 point

Chaka Khan would hopefully be playing before or after Janelle Monae given the lovely Prince connection. Janelle was so amazing the last two times I really think she deserves an evening slot she puts on an amazing show. I wish she was headlining Sunday night at WH again.1 point

For the last decade or more, they've done the newest album in full followed by some hits. Both at festivals and their own shows. Unlikely to change that. They are a risky (undeerstatement) festival booking and while I love them deeply and they've been amazing every time I've seen them, were I booking a festival, I wouldn't have them anywhere near it, just because the casual observer is likely to get a bit er... restless and start witlessly bellowing for 'Eileen'1 point
