  1. If we assume all these names are last two main stage acts for every day than we still need two more. Could be headliner and sub or two headliners, depending on how promoters want to put it on a poster
  2. Halsey is a good shout, rather popular and can play one-offs (like India this January). Not my kind of music, but heard good reviews about her show from friends, some pop-punkish Paramore vibes.
  3. Really can't believe we are discussing Ellie Goulding as a potentional headliner, I love Lights and Halcyon eras but I saw her live three times and each one was worse than the previous. It's a robot girl on stage, no emotions, no show.
  4. Day splits, TBH -- not that bad by modern Exit standards
  5. My thoughts are: - Liam and Stormzy play the same day to attract UK visitors; - Sam Smith seems to be surprisingly big, so they could leave him as a standalone headliner; - Same with Fred, maybe they add Skrillex as second headliner that day; - Martin Garrix always was a standalone headliner at Sziget, no reasons to change it; So there could be two spots left.
  6. States and Japan only yet, but Sziget is exactly between these dates.
  7. Imagine if with all potential options Sziget decides to book both Major Lazer and Macklemore as headliners…
  8. Four festivals across Europe already announced her as a headliner.
  9. We know someting's going wrong with Sziget when there's no Bastille in even-numbered year...
  10. More suitable example then: in 2019 they brought Razorlight, who also had only one UK date (and Summer Well then) and IMO even less fans in Europe 😀
  11. Kings of Leon and Mumford & Sons once played Sziget as European exclusive show, so totally not impossible.
  12. The main problem is that overall the artist pool is good, and from the first sight it's hard to make next announcement worse. Still there's a lack of massive artists and, what's more important, almost all of the others are far from Sziget's current direction. The Offspring, Rise Against, QOTSA, LCD Soundsystem, Phoenix, Pixies, Korn, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, Pendulum, Keane, Two Door CInema Club, Snow Patrol, Pulp, The National, The Smile, PJ Harvey, Biffy Clyro, Fatboy Slim, Catfish, Liam Gallagher, even Noel Gallagher are all around, reach out and grab them (if their schedule allows). If Sziget wants to play it big, there are always Lana Del Rey, Måneskin, Swedish House Mafia and The Chainsmokers; Macklemore is also here to the rescue, but it would be ridiculuos (and I have a gut feeling that he'll be there).
  13. IMO most of this year's better lineups are provided by August festivals. Way Out West, Øya, Reading / Leeds, Kalorama, Lowlands, and of course Rock en Seine. Strange that Sziget lacks behind.
  14. Very strong move considering they are main headliners of the day everywhere else. Sometimes Open'er can surprise, still remember planned for 2020 main stage run of The Killers - The Cure - The Chemical Brothers...
  15. Sziget historically had lots of Dutch attendees, one of the reasons - it was much cheaper then Dutch festivals even including travel costs. But since 2022 this advantage started to disappear.
  16. I like how they didn’t even mention Stormzy among headliners 🙃
  17. Saw Big Thief at Sziget in 2019, don't know who decided to put them to play main stage, but they seemed so out of place there.
  18. They are pretty unknown in Europe as they played their latest show there more than twenty years ago.
  19. My first FIB and also first foreign festival, ten years ago. Got a ticket for €70 or something like this (of course, showers, re-entrance and camping all were included). Kasabian on their peak, The Libs reunion... Inflation and all, but still... Good memories, unfortunately, can't see our company coming back with their new marketing strategy.
  20. Could they go oldschool a little bit and add Korn as headliners / subs?
  21. TBH next waves saved it... ...so in theory they can save this anniversary too!
  22. Even looking back at 2022-2023 lineups, this is... I just don't know. Headliner-wise it's probably a worst Sziget in a long time (at least for now). Martin Garrix is the only one which seems suitable - traditional EDM-headliner, and not the worst one. Stormzy is not a headliner material for such a huge festival outside of UK. Fred probably is a hot cake right now, but having two DJ headliners when festival only lasts for six days? No comments on Sam Smith, just don't want to discuss it. Like them or not, but Imagine Dragons and Billie Eilish are huge artists, which should headline such festival. In 2022 they had two huge pop stars, one huge guitar-driven band and two just big enough. And just three editions before Twenty One Pilots played before Foo Fighters on the last festival day. Time...
