  1. See somewhere above - I posted a cheese and cider fondue recipe. There are also various chicken pies that use both. You can also do sausages braised in cider, cheese into the mash on any fish/shepherd's/cottage pie etc.
  2. I had forgotten how many competitions I had actually entered in desperation. I still have a lot of cheese and cider, but as I got tickets this morning (!), I don't need to buy more calorie laden, liver destroying, food and drink. I'm so relieved - it is just me with 3 disabled kids and we require power etc for medical kit, so a last minute win simply wouldn't work for us, so this feels like a real miracle after what was a truly horrific week last week. I have the team here in mind if any of my entries come up trumps, as I only need one of the tickets. I kept going to try and help Billie and a couple of others via Glasatobation & Glastopia on twitter, but to no avail - none of the usual tricks to get back to the reg page worked, and none of my other screens came up.
  3. Hi Matthew - did you get my messages? Thanks!
  4. Well, first time I've reached the registration page since Oct 22 (when I reached it within a minute, but teh damn thing would never load past that page). And no availability on any coaches, so still no ticket 😞 I hope others on here did better.
  5. Indeed - the benefit of the tony's one is that there is no need to identify a name until you have the piece of cardboard/paper saying you've won. And I'm certain any of us here would happily be known as a crazy fool, in the circumstances!
  6. Yes - I agree with the poster above re the south bank cottages. However, I have zero prospect of ditching children and work responsibilities and getting there. All I need is one golden ticket for me, and I’ll have 3 ecstatic small children - but just can’t get to London.
  7. Thanks for the heads' up. I bought one yesterday, but need to find a phone to put it in, hopefully this evening when I've got a break at work.
  8. All I can say is that I'm in a similar cheezy boozy situation, hence the random recipes I'm attempting!
  9. It is worth noting that the ts and cs are somewhat inconsistent. Clause 8 reads: The nominees of the 10 winners will each receive two General Admission Full Weekend tickets for Glastonbury festival 2024. Clause 11 reads: The prize tickets will be issued in the name of the nominee and their guest and will be sent to the nominee by post by Wednesday 19 June 2024. So it looks like tickets are in the name of the nominator and nominee, but it really isn't clear given clause 8 suggests 2 tickets go to the nominees.
  10. The Guardian competition is also live now. https://www.theguardian.com/info/2024/apr/15/nominate-a-friend-to-go-to-glastonbury-festival-2024 All I need is some friends to nominate me...(in all likelihood I only need the one ticket as should have a PA application).
  11. No, sorry. I have 3 young children, so am well used to removing all sorts of things from all sorts of places. Add to that that I cloth nappied them (and if you ever need to know how to remove a stain or fix a washing machine, the cloth nappy groups are the place to go), and I have a pretty decent base level of stain removal knowledge. And before you say I should get out more...if only I had my golden ticket this year...
  12. Own up. Depending on which cider it is, rinse the fabric off. If you can take the cover off, do so, and run water through it. Either way, then soak up the liquid (use muslins if you have them, tea towels and towels otherwise). Repeat. Do not rub at it, just dab (you can use lots of pressure). Then sprinkle liberally with bicarb of soda. Allow it to absorb the liquid (at least 20 mins, can be left for hours or overnight). You can then hoover up, and repeat as necessary. If the stain remains, then you have the options of mineral bleach (percarbonate of soda) and/or the sun (the sun is great for removing tomato and berry stains). Hope that helps!
  13. I've still got cheese left from earlier this year. On the plus side, it keeps well (some is in the freezer, others, bb 15 Feb, is still going strong in sandwiches etc). It's off to co-op we go, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho. Not tried it, but I suspect I'll have to at some point: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/cider-cheese-fondue/
