Very surprised by to hear he is suggesting it himself, thought he was literally too big and too young.  Kylie was imo an outlier in the spot.

To be fair I think he mentioned it a couple times in interviews a few years ago, not sure it's really a campaign as such and seemed to go quiet.

My view has always been that RW is the kind of person who'll say stuff like that in interviews without having thought them through or having the intent to actually do it. Personally I agree that he's probably a few years away from being a genuinely realistic option.

Agree

But there’s been worse in the “drunken, deliberately tacky (with a few exceptions) ironic, picnic blanket posse, karaoke slot” I

Good point...

Got an idea for a bit of content, it's basically you two walking around the Radio 2 festival calling everything sh*t.

I went to see Patti Labelle on Friday night.

Going in, I thought for sure she might have been a candidate we'd overlooked.  She's 82 and still performing exceptionally well.  A really fun show!  But the tickets didnt move.  It was about half sold.  She'd be great on West Holts, but I don't think she'd draw the crowd I had expected

Could Mark Ronson be a candidate for the legends slot - perhaps in the 5 to 10 year timeframe? Would be dependent on having some good special guests

Not sure Dua Lipa and Bruno Mars would show up for the Sunday afternoon, but maybe if one of them was headlining...

don't know whether legend slot or not - but i'd love to see a-ha on the farm.

i saw them loads of times back around the time Analogue was out, one of the best live acts you could hope to see.

i always wondered why they've never played Glastonbury... i saw them play at Guilfest so its not because they don't like festivals.

(although, thinking about it... i have previously on these boards made a big deal about never seeing an act again if i have already seen their "farewell" shows, so i guess i'd have to pass on them anyway from a moral standpoint 🙂 )

I’d love this! A really great band and often overlooked because people always immediately think of their poppier side and make a judgement. Analogue is probably my favourite a-ha album.

Sadly, Morten has Parkinson’s and although he has been undergoing treatment, it is unknown if he’ll record or tour again.

Saw Duran Duran last night at BST, I thought they were brilliant and certainly still have it, Le Bon sounded great. Banger after banger, they have such a huge back catalogue of hits, the two hours flew by

Would love to see them at Glasto soon, they would go down really well. The only question is where would they fit, would love to see them in the Legend slot, that would be an insane Sunday afternoon singalong of hit after hit and they would attract an enormous crowd, it would come across brilliantly on the TV coverage. But they could still easily justify a headline set in my opinion. One of the very few bands who could still fill either slots...

Why has no one mentioned Night Ranger?

Touring well into 2027. Would be ripe for the Pyramid by then. https://nightranger.com/events/

100k at this. Emily and Nick off their tits on nitrous oxide.

What search terms do you use to find these gems?

And I can't imagine the state of your algorithm. Or do you use a separate account?

Unlikely I know, but I'll continue to hold out for Billy Joel please and thank you.

Only way he's on the farm is if he headlines. Last 10 years he's done 3 UK stadiums and sold out BST.

I was there as well. They were fantastic. 100% deserving of a headline slot and they would nail it.
